Not doing it this year.

Normally this is where we do the customary "Where were you when..." post.

Not doin' it this year.

Every half-assed artiste and self-important talking head is going to be engaged in an orgy of omphaloskepsis today, telling me how they felt on that day.

I don't care how they felt on that day.

The people whose feelings on that day would interest me most are too busy monitoring the reactors on submarines, playing swap-a-tronics in the electronic guts of a JSTARS, or shooting smelly terrorists in the face to go pose for the cameras in NYC.

  1. Bloody well damn right.

I can't say it better than you wrote here.

  2. I didn't do a "Where were you?" post, or a How I felt that day" post. I did a "How I feel TODAY" post. But I certainly acknowledge your position on the topic. (AKA - "word!")

  3. Yup, Mallard Fillmore also captured it well.

  5. That "wuff!" noise the guard dog makes when he spots a threat? He's not so worried about 10 years ago either. Watching here, Yes. Yes we are! WV:bushne. Heh! (Leupold actually.)

  6. Thanks, Tam, I actually had a chuckle after looking up 'omphaloskepsis' at dictionary.com; and I agree with your sentiments.

  7. I'm not even thinking about it. BO has declared September 11, 2011 as, "National Grandparents Day." Since all of my grandparent are dead, I'm thinking about them. I thought it was a joke at first: {http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2011/09/09/presidential-proclamation-national-grandparents-day}. Is "SCOAMF" even strong enough words?

  11. Old NFO asked me that question a few days ago, so I answered him, Vet to Vet. But, to the Lamestream Media with their "Boo Hoo, it's 9-11" Dreck, here's my answer: "One of my Nephews in the U.S. Military is Somewhere I don't have a Need to Know, doing Something I don't have a Need to Know, which allows me to go about my Business and live my life, which is ALL I Need to Know. Now Quit your Whining and Self -Flagellation and find some Real News."

  17. I played the "Where were you then" game, just to let people know how PISSED OFF I AM about the appeasers-in-charge of this once-great nation. I am not doing the maudlin dirge, however.

I had bacon with breakfast, bought a 1911 this weekend, and am having pork tenderloin with dinner. The Wahhabists can kiss my red, white, and blue backside. I am done playing victim. Come get some.

  23. I would much rather prefer to reminisce about "Where were you on the day we nuked Mecca and Medina?"
