Preparedness Koan...

Upon hearing the story of the bandit in the village, the student went to the Master:

"Master, it saddens me that this evildoer is preying on the helpless. I have listened to and practiced all that you have taught me to prepare myself; I truly believe in my heart that I can defeat this bandit.

Everywhere I go on my daily rounds, I keep an eye out for him, walking upright, staying alert and looking around, studying the people around me, and yet the monster never shows himself, never chooses me, but preys on the defenseless instead. Why, Master?"

The Master only smiled.

And the student was enlightened.

  2. Again, indeed. There are only two types of people on this earth, victims and survivors.

  3. Most people never think about the question, much less answer it.

  4. Good point, being alert and aware of your surroundings will solve 99% of potential problems.

  5. I wonder if there are police officers wandering the shadows disguized as house wives, sluts, or bag ladies, pretending to be self absorbed, inebriated, or otherwise unaware.

With more people like that we would need fewer people like that.

WV: nooke- Aw, come on, its too easy.

  6. Not really related, but -

from Virginia, some advice from a county Sheriff - "If you're going to carry a concealed weapon, put it in a reputable holster," Captain Elizabeth Scott with the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said when asked about general gun safety tips.

Gist of article, it seems pistol fired when man was putting on seatbelt.

  7. Unfortunately, that only seems to work on the "Smart" Wolves. Way too many of them, especially the "Young Cubs", seem to be applying for their Darwin Awards when they should know better. But who am I to complain about "Evolution in Action?"

Hopefully, the "Broad Ripple Rapist" is one of those who are Volunteering to be removed from the Gene Pool, and you can get your Tag Filled.

I'm glad this mouth-breather killed himself, he can stop eating my food, breathing my air.

What a fine example of humanity. This is the attitude of most anti-gun freaks.

Would it be too much to ask for this pisswit to choke on a chicken bone?

  12. Whenever anyone asked him about Zen, the great master Gutei would quietly raise one finger into the air. A boy in the village began to imitate this behavior. Whenever he heard people talking about Gutei's teachings, he would interrupt the discussion and raise his finger. Gutei heard about the boy's mischief. When he saw him in the street, he seized him and cut off his finger. The boy cried and began to run off, but Gutei called out to him. When the boy turned to look, Gutei raised his finger into the air. At that moment the boy became enlightened.
