"acquitted or murdering the unarmed..." Yep, that sums up what happened pretty well. The news, the whole news and nothing but the news. Yep, lets check that box.
Can't say I'm too surprised. After a speeding ticket becomes "news", how can this not be one of the "top stories of the day"? I'm sure the trial and associated witch-hunting were stressful to say the least; it's not unusual for marriages to end after such a thing. At least she didn't file in the middle of the trial.
Maybe Zimmerman will be the next LiLo;he'll get a reality show on Tuff TV "Keeping up with Zimmerman" and it will be about the adventures of neighborhood watch.
Isn't Mrs. Z still at risk of being charged and undergoing a perjury trial? Under even less persuasive evidence than that used to charge Mr. Z for murder?
Shellie Zimmerman said that the couple had received numerous death threats and had "lived like gypsies"
That is anti-Roma bias and insensitive and hurtful. Shame, Shellie, shame!
Isn't Mrs. Z still at risk of being charged and undergoing a perjury trial? I thought the article indicated she was already convicted of perjury and sentenced to probation?
Back in the day all we had to worry about was prison... maybe a civil suit. Never in our Ayoob induced, Gravest Extreme nightmares did we imagine burning at the media's stake.
Of course this is what happens when you shoot The Lightbringer's imaginary son.
You can't blame her. The media has turned him into pure poison. Anyone who is associated with him will have to live the rest of their lives with the press hounding them, and worry about who is behind them.
His life is over, destroyed by the press more thoroughly than if Trayvon had killed him. At least if Trayvon had killed him, his wife could collect his life insurance.
This way, they are going to be financially ruined for life. The only escape for her is divorce.
This case proved to me that I will not intervene in my neighbors' affairs, even if I see a man wearing a hockey mask and carrying a bloody machete exiting my neighbor's house.
I think her book writing career pretty much demands she establish a victim-hood image, and seize this opportunity to establish the harm done to her, by ending the marriage. I mean, after the divorce, you won't have to worry that images of you serenely going on with your life might detract from a book about how stressful everything was.
. . but with a perjury conviction, legally proving her word is untrustworthy, will she have problems presenting her story in court? Hmm. That perjury conviction might limit her access to any mercy from the court. And it kind of makes out Mr. George as the injured party, with regard to the divorce.
If I was her, I think I would do my damnedest to make nice for a couple of years, before deciding to do anything noticeable. And maybe skip the book.
Z's chance for a normal life certainly is over, and if media succeeds in agitating for a lynching, maybe even his life itself. But then who will do the agitating for them to be held accountable for the blood dripping from their pens?
No one, until ultimately God takes his vengeance on their evil souls, for they surely will be accomplice to murder. The irony.
I had several friends that went through AA or Substance Abuse issues. None of their relationships survived the changes. I had two friends that lost a child, one divorced and one almost divorced after the loss of the child. The Zimmerman's break-up is not surprising after a traumatic event like this.
Shellie at least had the decency to stick with George through the trial and the first month afterwards. She denied the haters another tool to attack George. I wish them peace and success.

yes, as one whose ancestral tree contains Gypsy forebears, I am grievously offended, and intend to sue Zimmerman and the school that allowed her to graduate holding such racist xenophobic and ethnophobic beliefs.
And top news? Well, Duh. To channel Colonel Coopers remark about how Mark Fuhrman's language proved OJ could not have murdered two people, I say that Zimmerman's irresponsible speeding and selfishness towards his soon to be ex wife are proof that he was in no danger that night of having his brains spilled on the sidewalk by an unarmed yet bigger and more muscular assailant. What selfishness, particularly? Is she saying he should have taken the fall and saved her a load of money for the divorce settlement? Sorry if I'm not properly sympathetic here.
That first paragraph was certainly bias free.

ReplyDeleteJeez...I know my wife would be angry if I got a speeding ticket, but that seems a bit harsh.

Hopefully, he never leaves his clothes unattended at a laundromat. By the end of the next day, headlines would proclaim smelly feet and hash marks.

My bet is she gets a show. She is asking for half the assets, half the debts, and both dogs.
ReplyDeleteProbably tired of the target on her back by association.
Isn't Mrs. Z still at risk of being charged and undergoing a perjury trial? Under even less persuasive evidence than that used to charge Mr. Z for murder?
ReplyDeleteThat should be the news.
Hey. More time for crime fighting. Maybe sheriff Arpay... Arpa... um... that guy in Arizona could put him on TV.
ReplyDelete* My eyes must be getting bad. Had to reload the captcha half a dozen times to get something that didn't look like a doctor's handwriting.

I thought the article indicated she was already convicted of perjury and sentenced to probation?
Plea bargain, she also had to write a note to the judge saying she was sowwy.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, another case of over charging and then forcing a deal though terroristic prosecutor behavior.
Back in the day all we had to worry about was prison... maybe a civil suit. Never in our Ayoob induced, Gravest Extreme nightmares did we imagine burning at the media's stake.
ReplyDeleteOf course this is what happens when you shoot The Lightbringer's imaginary son.
Based on the title I thought you were talking about Anthony Weiner's wife.
ReplyDeleteBecause they need a head on the wall to match Richard Jewell's.
ReplyDeleteI would think he would have legally changed his name to Emmanuel Goldstein by now.
ReplyDelete"I thought the article indicated she was already convicted of perjury and sentenced to probation?"
ReplyDeleteShe pled guilty in exchange for probation and the ability to have it expunged afterward.
In other news, apparently the UN is more concerned about George Zimmerman not being railroaded into jail than it is about chemical weapons use in Syria.
Caught this on the scroll last night after reading your former traffic ticket breaking news. And I couldn't muster shock.
ReplyDeleteLoons, I tell ya.
Thanks,
JSG
I heard George Zimmerman drinks coffee that isn't Fair Trade.

So, any settlement he gets from ABC, NBC, etc. will need to be split with her?

Dan H.,
ReplyDeleteSomeone suggested Ben Ghazi would be a better choice. Then the MSM and Democrats would never mention his name again.

It's because he's growing a beard . Women hate beards .
ReplyDeleteDivorce the result of perjured marriage vows?
