Thanks to the hot 'n' cold running distractions piped into the house via fiber optic cable, this morning's coffee is made with thrice-boiled water.
I'll bet "thrice-boiled water" would sound exotic in Italian or Turkish and coffee made with it could be sold at exorbitant prices to hipsters.
.
"Tre volte caffè bollito." I'm sure StarbUCKS could charge and extra couple dollars a cup for that.
ReplyDeleteWILL SEND TURKISH COFFEE AND DIRECTIONS TO PREPARE VERY RICH FLAVORFUL AND STRONG USE IT FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
ReplyDeletenow let's be honest, most hipsters don't know what "thrice" means in English either...
ReplyDeleteWhy not? There are twice- and thrice- distilled whiskeys and vodkas (or is it whiskys? whiskies?) I think there's a vodka out there that is advertised as four times distilled.
ReplyDeleteIf you're going into the coffee-huckstering business, take the extra trouble to branch out into tea and jack up the price for Russian tea because they have a special word for the water used for it ("zavarki").
ReplyDeleteThat plus the fact the method for Russian tea-making is a needlessly complicated as the Russians made their soldiers' footwraps (portyanki are much more difficult to put on than the German Fusslappen) and you could get away with charging a week's pay for a cup.

P.S. No idiot box at Chez GVI so I just nuked yesterday's coffee.
If they can't get it right the first time, what makes them think doing it two or three times more will help?
ReplyDeleteComes close to the definition of insanity.
You could just boil water 3 times and serve it up as thrice-boiled homeopathic coffee.

ReplyDeleteYou could go to the region on the Black Sea shared by Bulgaria and Turkey and get Thrace boiled water for your tea and coffee.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading an article about vodka in the WSJ, and apparently there is a vodka out there that is distilled 159 times...
ReplyDeleteThat is just too frickin' anal for me. I'll stick with bourbon.
My tastes have never risen above refried beans.
ReplyDeleteThrice boiled and nuked. That makes it "Quantum Energized."
