This is why I avoid facebook. I have brothers who cannot distinguish between scolding someone and sawing his head off with a dull knife, or barring one from doing something and not paying for that person to do that something, and conflating not paying for that something with scraping the genitals of girls because it's tradition or something.
I suppose the upside to being obscure and unpopular is that I just don't get the exposure to paste-eating morons and drooling simpletons that the Cool Kids do.
Most humans seem to prefer being in an echo chamber, which is rather trying for those of us who have no need to feel like the smartest person in the room.
I prefer to go for nice long walks with the newborns these days. They make more sense than most of the human race.
I don't presume to guess what events prompted your comment, but interestingly, it is spot on for my reaction to the comments of my brothers who "have the nuanced view of things".
There is a metric buttload of people who really need to be kidney punched. I keep reminding myself that a) there's way too many for me to take care of them all, and b) due to a few quirks in our judicial system, were I to do so then I'd be in the wrong.
In a very narrow legalistic sense. But a still legally binding one.

ReplyDeleteYeah...I'm on the verge of either killing my fb account, or recommending to multiple family members and longtime friends that they play in traffic...
ReplyDeleteI suppose the upside to being obscure and unpopular is that I just don't get the exposure to paste-eating morons and drooling simpletons that the Cool Kids do.
ReplyDeleteYou presume that I'm referring to events here.
ReplyDeleteMeh. All about the same since Eternal September.

It'd be far more satisfying if I still had a CRT
ReplyDeleteCan't retweet without twitter, but mark me in too.
ReplyDeleteNot just you, but shooting the monitor is SO much more satisfying... :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally off topic...It was cool meeting you at the Larry Correia signing yesterday!
DeleteThe secret for me is to be attuned to things it does not profit me to worry about.

ReplyDelete( hides paste jar )
ReplyDeleteNo, I was actually thinking of Facespace and other fora. I acknowledge that jumping to conclusions is a possibility.

Judging from the timing of her post, that'd be my drooling and paste eating that's offended.
ReplyDeleteI vow to offend no more.
McThag,
ReplyDeleteGet down off the cross.
I don't know we've even gotten reasonably cross-threaded in a while.
IOW, if you're reading this it probably wasn't you.
ReplyDeleteI will come down from this cross after the fireworks because the view from up here is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteMmmm... Paste!
