The four wheel drive makes it a formidable beast. I think that was an Elenco conversion, which was done so nicely it looked like the original equipment. I wish I could get down there for one of those, our local shows suck ass.
Tam, With your love of tractors, you're going to have to go the the Rush County Tractor Show next year. http://www.pioneerengineers.com/
You'd get to see 50 or so of the old steam traction engines chuffing around and working. The even have them plowing. Plus hundreds of "Newer" tractors.
I love it when you post pics of old tractors. They don't have old tractors anymore at our local county fair...and I haven't been to the Ohio State fair in years. Maybe I should go this year...

ReplyDeleteThat is a neat badge!
ReplyDeleteI wants it, Precious.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen one with 4wd.
ReplyDeleteThat badge is cool, but the golden jubilee badge is better. We had a 53 NAA, nice little tractor.

Because coefficient of drag in the air is a critically important factor in the efficiency of tractors.
ReplyDeleteI think that's the only four wheel drive I've seen than was designed for two different wheel circumferences. Cool. -- Lyle

ReplyDeleteOK...next year. The Ohio State fair ended yesterday.
ReplyDeletetam, you need to hit the old thresher reunion in Washington Iowa. They have more tractors there than I have ever seen in one place.
ReplyDeleteI think Og is right as I don't think they made a 4x4 tractor back then. Or at least not a scaled down version.
White made one in the 60-70 range but it was a huge thing used in Kansas.
Still, good looking tractor.
Og,
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
Og's info led me to this:

Hah! Cool. One of the commenters in that thread mentions a Funk. here's a Funk conversion with a Zephyr v12 engine.

Now put the 4wd under THAT hawg and you have an amazing machine. probably snap the axles though.
That era of Ford tractors are some of my favorite looking ones. It doesn't hurt that Grandpa's still got one in great shape and still does work.
