3" S&W Model 629-1, circa 1987, with a CRKT Ryan Seven folder.
The Mag-Na-Porting on this flamethrowing snubnosed .44 Magnum definitely helps make it easier to shoot. I wish it was a little newer, as this is a pre-"Endurance Package" gun, so hot loads with bullets heavier than 240 grains can cause the cylinder to rotate backwards under recoil. Not that I'd make a hobby out of firing such Elmer Keith Memorial Rhino-Rollers, mind you. Loaded with hot .44 Special, such as Buffalo Bore's 255gr Keith SWC @ 1000fps, it's almost downright pleasant.

In related news, I'm planning to show up at Coal Creek Armory today and hold my breath until I get a complete AR lower for the fair-to-me price of $20 out the door.

Whattaya mean, hot loads with heavier than 240 grain bullets? I finally gave up on the 29/629 after the fourth one failed to even go 1000 rounds of Elmer's load (Lyman 429421, 22.0 2400, standard primers) without timing problems and that's not even a very hot load! I think it's pressure related, not recoil; because a 4" .45 Colt N-fame gave me no problems with equal-performance (1200-1300 fps 250 grain) loads. Damn, I wish I'd kept that one!

I disagree. Putting the knife, hat and holster in the pic really framed the handgun nicely. That, and the lighting really set off the stainless finish.
You claim to be a "Non-Artsy Type" but I can't buy it. It takes a good eye for getting things to "look purty" through a camera lense. I'm sure your friend Oleg agrees.
