Bikes: Sigh.
For some reason I'm really, really missing it today...

900 or 600?
I never could understand why that series never sold better for Suzuki. It seemed to me to offer 95% of the performance of the race replicas without the back-breaking riding posture, spazzy graphics and maintainence intensive fiddly bits.
Similarly, I can't walk past an FJ-1200 without sighing and muttering "won't let it get away next time".
Its a springtime thing- that missing it. I'm just about to put a 81 GS850G back on the road- maybe later this week, after resurrecting it from a handful of owners and years unregistered. Lucky for me the spouse left town today for a week that I need to be busy sanding, taping, spraying and buffing.
We had a perfect day for riding yesterday. I need to get around to fixing my '79 CB750 so I can start riding again. I've noticed myself trying to drive my truck fast, that's a definite indicator it's time to get back in the saddle.
Nope, mine's a CB750K LTD. If you want to see some pics I've got them up at: http://totalmotorcycle.com/BBS/index.php. I wouldn't mind having the F, but my Anniversary Edition is prettier. :)
So, Tam, are you going to replace it? What kind of riding do you like to do? Tried any track days or classes? Time on a roadrace course is a blast, and makes you a safer rider on the road.
I know how you feel, Tam. We've had something like 3 decent riding days in the last several months (one of many drawbacks to WI). Actually got my ride out today, and almost froze some parts off!
I always liked that series. Too bad most of them out here have been bought by well-meaning adults for their young men and promptly thrown down the highway.
The remaining ones seem to be holding their value fairly well, but I'm more hankering after a mint CBR1000F nowadays.
Need something with a bit of oomph really, since I commute on the V-strom most days and it's decent but not rocket.
Sorry, it wasn't a link. I'm not up on all that. Copy and paste should take you to the forum, then find my blog (mgdavis) in the member blog section, it should be on the first page. That's just in case anyone is still checking these comments.

It's been a perfect few days for riding. I need to resurrect the Old Man's Goldwing and the camper and take a road trip.
pdb,
"900 or 600?"
It was a '94 RF600R. Now it's scrap in a junkyard someplace, thanks to an inattentive Camry driver.

For me nowadays it's, "One Man, One Cylinder." (thanks to Volker on RMD) But with a two-stroke stinkwheel it's like having an extra cylinder. ;-)
The Whisper Project is making me very jealous. The Zuki loss is sad.

I had one just like that, Katana 750. Only time I spilled was on the golf course in the middle of the night!
Wish I never sold it, your free as a damn bird on those things.
