Snow?!? In Winter?!? In Indianapolis?!? Get right outta town! That's a little like getting a "BEWARE OF CORN" alert in Nebraska, don't you think?... SNOW TO RETURN TO CENTRAL INDIANA...
A STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING ACCUMULATING SNOW TO CENTRAL INDIANA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. PRESENT INDICATIONS ARE FOR 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW TO FALL ACROSS MOST OF CENTRAL INDIANA...

I'll trade you. Send me your snow and I'll send you the ice we are supposed to get here in Oklahoma tonight through Wednesday.
I've got a shrine to St. Algore here in my computer room. I'm lighting candles in front of his figure:

and praying that the anthropomorphic global warming kicks in and the snow don't come.
At least now they do a decent job of predicting the storm severity and snowfall totals so that we know what to expect.
In the mid '70's when Mr. Roberts, our local(Champaign, IL) TV meteorologist, said "this is just a little Alberta clipper, we won't get more than an inch of snow from this" I could plan on missing a couple days of school with the ensuing blizzard :)
Ask the natives around Indy about those winters.
Good to hear you had a good birthday to balance out the week!

Beware of Corn?
.....um...er.... I never thought of it as dangerous......
.... I guess familiarity breeds contempt.......
Just think, in three or four months it will mostly be over. :>o
WTF????
We have a corn alert here?
I need to get to the store nowwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think "Beware of corn" would make an excellent t-shirt. I can't put my finger on why, but it works for me.
Jim
"Beware of corn" - means go buy out all the stores' milk and bread supplies, right? Because these items are so useful when a corn avalanche knocks out your power. ;)
I'll trade you your snow for my volcano just gone active. If you want, I'll even throw in yesterday's 5.7 earthquake for free!
Serious, would you send snow-thoughts my way? The stupid warm weather on the heels of the thirty below zero meant we went from too cold to snow to all the snow melting, and I worry about how dry our summer will be, and full of wildfires, without snowpack.
You would think it wouldn't be a big deal, but maybe you haven't noticed that people seem to be unable to function/drive with even the smallest amount of snow.
Snow: I seems to have a dulling effect on certain people senses, they forget any highschool physics they ever learned. Like the bits about friction, F=MA, , etc...
So like you need tires that aren't bald, and to slow the heck down? No kidding?
The rest of us stay home trying to avoid meeting these people.
Hey! You know, if it snows- I also hear that it might be cold........somebody told me that once.....
Off topic, but this:
http://www.tamarasherbes.com/
showed up in your ads. I see you started a new business to fit in there in Broad Ripple...
Back on topic though, it is nice to get some warning when real pile of snow is on the way, so you can pick up an extra bottle of bourbon and another bag of chips on the way home from work.
@Rob, you should have your bourbon and chips already laid in... Zombie Apocaplypse, y'know.
@Grouch, that's where the extra comes in. You gotta' pre-replace what you're going to use. You don't want your supply to get depleted! What if the zombies strike right after the snow quits? You can't just pop out to the store to resupply! How good are zombies at navigating snow, anyway?
Oh, great. Now I have a huge urge to travel to Nebraska specifically so that I can put up a "Beware of Corn" warning sign on the sign of some major road.
Most folks aren't aware of the danger of corn.
It's not the corn you have to worry about, it's the corn's children.
:P

I am. It makes some wicked liquor.
Maybe the 'Beware of corn' sign should be at the Kentucky state border.
captcha: dodder - what that corn liquor makes you do as you walk through the snow
