This is one huge issue. On one hand we need HIS vote and every bit of support we can get to defend the Second Amendment. On the other hand how do we rein in the 'Mall Ninja" and their relatives without alienating them?
If a permit law would really put a stop to idiot shennigans, then I would be willing to enter into a discussion and give my reasons why I think the free exercise of liberties is more important than idiocy prevention.
However, all history and experience have manifestly demonstrated that idiocy is completely impervious to bureaucratic processes. In fact, it often seems that idiocy thrives in a bureaucracy-rich environment.
Therefore, I don't think the debate of liberty vs. idiocy prevention is worth having in the first place.
