If I had a serious bitch about this comic opera it would be against -- you guessed it -- wire services which kept leading their stories with soldiers ousting "the democratically elected president."

The Honduran president was going to jack around with their constitution so he could stay in power. Hell it seems that fact is being glossed over by the wire services and others.
One does not have to go far back. The USA got Noriega when we wanted him. And It seems like many who "complain" about this were also the ones who wanted to remove Bush from office because "he broke the law..." so how is that not the same thing?
It's a simple case of the president telling the legislature and supreme court that term limits just didn't apply to him. Well, they did. There was no coup, just enforcement of their constitution.
One wonders why Obama and his press side with other Marxist dictators in the region.
I also believe the Honduran military quite specifically went to great lengths to make it known it was responding to the direct orders of both it's Congress and the Honduran Supreme Court, not that any of that made the news here.
I'm glad we were more or less left to our own accord to do what was needed back in the 1770's, time to do the same in Honduras, let them choose their own destiny...

Does one really?
Doesn't look too hairy, as military coups go. A bit of rioting in the streets, and the state department is telling all Americans in the country to stay indoors. Haven't heard reports of any deaths yet; hopefully everyone can walk out of this OK.
Still, can't beat the 2006 Thai coup for politeness.
At 23:00 Thawinan Khongkran, Miss Asia 1987 and head of Public Relations for Army-owned television station Channel 5,[14] announced on TV that military and police units had Bangkok and the surrounding areas under control:
The armed forces commander and the national police commander have successfully taken over Bangkok and the surrounding area in order to maintain peace and order. There has been no struggle. We ask for the cooperation of the public and ask your pardon for the inconvenience. Thank you and good night.
"more or less left to our own accord"?
There are a lot of dead Americans, Englishmen, Frenchmen, and Hessians who might wonder at that statement.
This country is a rebellion against lawfully elected authority.
"lawfully elected authority?"
Oh. So how did you vote, the last election for king?
"...jack around with their constitution so he could stay in power. Hell it seems that fact is being glossed over by the wire services and others."
Seems to be glossed over?
How about IS? That'd be FAR more accurate, doncha think?
Let's face it, this Zelaya dude is just taking direction from the notes he's been cribbing from the other would-be dictators in his neck of the woods. Doesn't come as much of a surprise to me.
WV: palimagr. Yes, it looks to be that way, Zelaya making himself into the image of his pals, Chavez and Morales.
Yes, but my inner hillbilly was typing at the time. But your right. And Tam,I hope you post heavy for the next 5 weeks. I'am stuck home, bored. Paying for years of motorcycle riding with surgery on my left arm.
Chubby Chavez got away with it and was trying to help his buddy, the bogus ballots were printed up n Venezuela. No word on that though.
Dirt's got the dirt, and I have no reason to believe that he's not telling the truth!
Ha!
