Overheard in the Office:

The dangers of using TeeWee news for your alarm clock:
RX: (emerging from her room) "Did a windmill catch fire at Chelsea Clinton's wedding? Like a free-floating windmill they were using to generate power?"

Me: "Huh? No."

RX: "Oh. That part must have been a dream then."

When I was in high school, my Mom would wake up every morning humming the Bekins jingle (if you never heard it, fine, if you have, sorry that it's running around your brain now). She didn't understand why until one morning something woke her a few minutes early and she heard the commercial on her clock radio.

What makes it especially amusing to me in retrospect is that she worked at a conter for autistic children, using behavior mod.

What makes it doubly frustrating is that it never occurred to me to sneak a tape recorder under her bed to play helpful messages. I could have tripled my allowance and gotten a car.

Bekins men are careful quick and kind
Bekins takes a load off of your mind

Moving heavy stuff or a fragile fixture...

Now I'm gonna have to hurt you, steve. Nothing personal, you understand.

Yes, sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. Why do you ask?

Those windmills aren't on fire. They are run using coal-powered steam engines.

Here's one in action.
