CNN was all dead Edwards, all the time this morning, including reminders that they'd be covering the funeral live. Apparently, all you gotta do to get national coverage of your funeral is to get cheated on by a Democrat politician, (which is pretty easy to do in places like Hyannis Port or Little Rock.)
This is the estranged wife of a one-term senator from a small state, a one-term senator whose main claim to fame in this world, other than being a philandering cad who never should have left the back cover of the phone book for a political career, was that he got stomped to a paste as a vice-presidential candidate despite running against the weakest GOP ticket since WWII that didn't have Bob Dole on it in some capacity or another.
So, anyhow, live coverage of her funeral? I mean, I get that the Democrats and their pals at CNN love them some bed-hopping politicians and everybody associated with them but, come on, she's not even a Kennedy!
At least while the media is covering her funeral, we don't have to watch them bowing down to another socialist Dem.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we'll get some hot shots of Westboro Baptist dirtbags screaming "THANK GOD FOR BREAST CANCER" and someone will finally get pissed enough to put them out of our misery.
ReplyDeleteThey don't want to admit that the WON just hung it up on being pResident yesterday cuz moochhell said he was late for a kiddie party.
ReplyDeleteIn the newspapers I worked for,
ReplyDeletewe'd just say "slow news day."
Anon,

ReplyDeleteI stand in absolute awwww of your Saturday Snarkitude. Does P.J O'Rourke call for help with his sentence structure??
And og, Fred and his merry band KNOW that liberals won't get violent.
I wonder why it is that almost everyone becomes a saint shortly after they die? Is it fear of death on the part of the observer?
ReplyDeleteHere we have a truely, monumentally bitchy woman, a savage abuser of everyone near her and inferior to her in social status, a borderline sociopath even by Democrat standards.
But years after she lost any minor significance, her faux worship fills our TV screens with drivel. I'm suprised Jerry Springer isn't doing a eulogy.
"And og, Fred and his merry band KNOW that liberals won't get violent."
ReplyDeleteActually, liberals are dramatically more likely to get violent than conservatives, they just talk peace and love, but when you piss them off they rise up in righteous indignation of your intolerance and practice some kamikaze intolerance of their own.
The ritual of media canonization has a propaganda value in and of itself.
ReplyDeleteLook at Saint Jack Kennedy, STILL according to recent polls the best, most important, or whatever post WWII president.
And that value is to those who bear the flame.
"Lenin MUST have been great, why else are his pictures and statues everywhere!"
"And og, Fred and his merry band KNOW that liberals won't get violent."
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry og, I didn't punctuate that properly. I SHOULD have said:
"And og, Fred and his merry band KNOW that liberals won't get violent."
And I WAS hoping for a few thrown punches. Did the Patriot Guard show up to stand between Fred and the family?
..."a philandering cad who huffed so much hair-spray he would often in a quasi legal-seance go out-of-body and channel the spirits of dead little girls in order to fatten his wallet.
ReplyDeleteFunerals are not for the dead, children or otherwise (nor are seances), they're for the living.
I was just thinking that perhaps we could have a moment of silence for her at every Republican assembly, in sorrow for her death despite the passing of Obama-care, and despite being lied to regularly by a Democrat Politician.
ReplyDeleteRemember, John Edwards is still living and her death is part of his planned comeback to a position of trust and lucrative compensation. I understand Obama needs help explaining his policies, so he can spend more time on vacations and at parties.
Dirtcrashr,
ReplyDeleteI think the quote was a reference to one of Edwards' courtroom tactics in obstetric malpractice cases. He would purport to be speaking for dead fetuses in court. "Now I'm hurting! I'm running out of oxygen in here!"
You know; science.
You don't want to throw punches at the idiots, they're all lawyers, and the moment someone touches them, they sue. Patriot Guard riders that I know, are all carefully informed of this, and told to be polite and smile and hands off.
ReplyDeleteNo, I was hoping some liberal POS would bypass the punching altogether.
I don't see any difference in what you posted. Did I miss something?
The media televises stock car racing in hopes of seeing a really good crash. If it weren't for crashes, stock car racing would be supremely boring.
ReplyDeleteThe media televises Dem funerals in the hope of another Paul Wellstone moment. If it weren't for the chance of seeing the 21st Century's answer to Marc Antony's burial speech, Dem funeral would ALSO be supremely boring.

Small state? Last I checked NC was bigger than Indiana in both size and population.
ReplyDeleteNeener!
Other than that, I agree. CNN is the People magazine of news channels.
krazmo,
ReplyDelete"Small state? Last I checked NC was bigger than Indiana in both size and population."
I'm sorry, did I imply that IN was a big state?
I was a pallbearer at my Uncle Doc's funeral today. He was a 31 year retiree of the Indiana National Guard, a father of 2 good guys (my cousins), A great uncle, and an all around good human being. He was married to my Aunt Nancy for 52 years. I think CNN should have covered his funeral and reviewed his life in addition to MS Edwards, just to compare and contrast the lives we all lead. As I type this I am putting the 30-06 blank next to my fathers.
ReplyDeleteGod bless all and take care out there.
Mike
Yeah, it's a small state. I can be at the beach in 3 hours and the Blue Ridge Mountains in less time by car. So there!
ReplyDeleteOur car tags say "First in Flight". They used to say "First in Freedom" but I guess the inmates at Central Prison got REALLY tired of pressing that into a piece of metal!
Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry og, I didn't punctuate that properly. I SHOULD have said:
"And og, Fred and his merry band KNOW that liberals won't get violent." -GRIN-
Evidently, these "less than" and "greater than" symbols mean something.
Mrs. TOTWTYTR thought I was being cruel when I mentioned that she knew about his cheating, but was perfectly willing to tolerate it as long as she thought he had shot at being President. She was just another bottom feeding, socially climbing, lawyer with political ambitions.
ReplyDeleteI'll save my sympathy for people who worked hard to make their money all their lives and didn't look down on other people.
I agree with TOTWTYTR: Liz came across to me as a typical politician's wife, willing to put up with anything her husband cared to do so long as she was getting something out of it. I'm sorry for all those who loved her, but I fail to see why we canonize political wives who volunteer to be their husbands' doormats.
ReplyDeleteRhode Island is a small state. Vermont is a small state. Hawaii is a small state.
ReplyDeleteNoth Carolina is medium sized.
It's all about portraying politicians as royalty, which they LOVE. The Left is still pining over Princess Di. -- Lyle
