- I've never particularly wanted a 10-rd single-stack magazine feeding sharply-tapered rimmed cartridges, but it's interesting to see what can be done by the determined.
- Frank James talks about the whys and wherefores of food prices from the end of the production line where the dirt is.
- A state-mandated basic concealed carry class is not the place to be teaching people your elite Navy SEAL ninja-fu, okay? Seriously, Rambo, that's how people get killed. Just switching a loaded handgun from one hand to the other is dangerous enough to get you bounced from some Handgun I classes.
Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.
“I only regret that I have but one face to palm for my country.”
I kept thinking "Who makes a semi-automatic pistol in 7.62 Nagant and when did the cartridges get a sharp taper?" when I read the link address. I had to read it twice to see "Mosin" in there. Thank you internet for ruining my comprehension skills by turning me into a skimmer.
ReplyDeleteWow. #1 "Because I can" doesn't begin to cover that.
ReplyDelete#2. I'm good with Frank and the whole "AgriBusiness" thing, though I think putting FOOD into fuel tanks is not the best use of corn (I can see using it to feed more cattle and pigs myself). However SUBSIDIZING the purchasers of corn-gas with MY tax money GREATLY pisses me off.
But not nearly as much as #3 greatly pisses me off...
When Teh State (CA, MA, or HI) limits you to 10-rounds you find people go to extreme measures to maximize that.
ReplyDeleteSince the limit is 15 in New Jersey and 20 in MD perhaps we can expect bigger magazines to be forthcoming in those states.
I don't know about the off hand draw thing. I got taught that in my Intro Pistol class by TigerSwan. Not in CCW class though. And not with someone else's gun.
ReplyDeleteA class with TigerSwan and a "This I The End The Bullet Comes Out" class should have different learning target, though... ;)
ReplyDelete@Tam- True that! Just got another CCH class out yesterday. Most of the students as you point out are newbies. No ammo in the classroom and Two RSO's during qualification!
ReplyDeleteBut Tam, didn't you ever want a brass and leather laptop?
ReplyDeleteI love Steampunk creations.
ReplyDeleteArt and technology combined, and that brass and leather laptop is something I would own in a heartbeat.
"Just switching a loaded handgun from one hand to the other is dangerous enough to get you bounced from some Handgun I classes."
ReplyDelete...And because I'm left-handed, that's why I don't plan on reloading a carry revolver. That's not the time to fumble a handoff.
