Me: "Man, E.B. Misfit is still going on about Bush & Cheney. I thought the human rights violations going on right now were happening under a new Commander-in-Chief?"
RX: "Yeah, but he didn't start them. That was Bush. And you can't just stop! I mean, if you just stopped raping babies, then the whole baby-raping industry would collapse!"
(Incidentally, 450 million rounds. Any real threats out there probably laugh when good guys get distracted by BS...)
Well, look on the Bright Side. They'll probably stash a few million of those rounds at Your Local Sooper Sekit FEMA Death Camp, so re-supply for your neighborhood should be easy.
ReplyDeleteOh, wait a minute. It's in .40 S+W, right? Never mind.
Now if they were using .38 S+W... ; )
As I understand it all that ammo is for training the new FEMA Death Camp employees.
ReplyDelete1800 rounds per year? If you include training, quals and some practice, your average officer shoots less than 450 bullets during any given 365 days. New recruits will burn up more during training, but then fall back to the norm.
ReplyDeleteThe training cadre will burning up ammo just so they have a place to store next years.
On the other side of the fence, I know of several departments that had to cancel carbine classes because they did not have enough ammo for the classes.

Gerry,
ReplyDeleteNote that the contract is for up to that amount, too. It's not uncommon for fed.gov contracts to use some pretty blue-sky numbers so that there's no possible way they'll run over during the period of the contract.
I hope they enjoy all the half-ass backwards-loaded and gas-empty crappy rounds coming out of ATK owned franchisees: Louis had some stories about certain companies and the product they're rolling out lately. Speer Lawman Hero to Zero.
ReplyDeleteShelly is the only human rights violation going on under the new commander in chief.
ReplyDeleteBut shes enough.
DirtCrashr,
ReplyDelete"Louis had some stories about certain companies and the product they're rolling out lately. Speer Lawman Hero to Zero."
Heck, I'm no Louis and I could tell you some Lawman horror stories, botly revolving around the total lack of a crimp on their auto rounds. Don't shoot them in, say, a Boberg or a S&W 325...
"botly" = "mostly", but typed with my nose.
ReplyDeleteTam,
ReplyDeleteBig problem with .gov is if you don't use your budget, they give it to somebody else. If you said you needed 50 M rounds, then you better buy them.
DOJ Dept of Corrections bought 3 million rounds of pistol ammo. What they did with them their supplier didn't know but they took delivery and paid for it. It just pushed back my little 3 case order back a few weeks.
Gerry
Others looked askance at their piles of Lawman, botly for me was white-box Winny and some old Yeller UMC 50-box (now also in the dismal swamps) but the mountainscape of dreaded mis-applied OAL's didn't present.
ReplyDelete{smooches}
ReplyDeleteFWIW, I'm not letting Obama off the hook. Closing one's eyes to war crimes is the equivalent of being a Good Little GErman.
