You've been swept up in the moronic and thoughtless anti-bullying craze and consequently passed a bill that is ridiculous on its face, a bill that criminalizes annoying and offending people on the internet. That's like criminalizing driving on the road.Man, if insulting people on the internet is against the law, this whole blog is nothing but evidence to be used against me in court. "Annoying and offending people on the internet" is pretty much my raison d'ĂȘtre.

I continue to read your stuff because you are very good at "Annoying and offending people on the internet." Someone needs to do it and its a pleasure to follow an artist.
Now I might consider "Wanted in Arizona" as a good thing.
Come and get me screw!
Gerry
if snarking you is wrong, i don't wanna be right.
What I find crazy about these laws is that it isn't illegal to do most of these things in person.
So why is it illegal to do it online?
I can call someone a cross eyed scum sucking bastard all I want to in letters and in person, as long as I avoid any actual harassment. I could flip them the bird and follow them at a safe distance and look at them mean as long as I don't scare them.
So why the need to make doing it online so much worse?
Can't we hurry up and get that mustache law passed so I can get my tax break? I need the goatee amendment added in ASAP too.
If they publish that annoying and offensive law on the internets, I'm filing charges.

"So why the need to make doing it online so much worse?"
Because then they win by default.
Y'see, there is a flip side to it that they cannot handle. It offends me to be prevented from offending them. Why is it acceptable for them to offend me, but not for me to offend them? The question does not arise if it is not permissible to raise it.
Unless you get at least one death threat a month you're not doing it right.
I just don't get what is going through the minds of the People of Arizona. They have some Good Pro-Gun Laws, they are fighting to keep their Border with Mexico secure in spite of the Federales appeasing the Mexican Gooberment, then they come up with Laws like this. Is it the Heat? The Water? Too many Old Farts retiring there? They're beginning to make Kalifornia seem Logical.
But maybe this explains why McCain keeps getting sent to Washington.
I just want to send Senator McCain away...
Keep him away from DC and AZ!

You win the internet, it's yours for today.
You just keep on keepin' on, Ma'am. This kind of stuff is what the Internet is FOR!
I mean, sometimes I rely on you to point out to me that I am being dumb and silly, and in such a way, that I cannot fail to catch yer drift.
My grandfather wrote the law on Bastards for Arizona.
Passed on three readings, and took effect immediately.
If only I was as distinguished and accomplished!
Love your snark and will defend to the death your right to say it, as long as it doesn't cost me any money and I don't actually have to do anything...
You're not annoying. THEY are annoyed because you're right and their wrong...and they know it.
That's why all the people that I correct on the internet are annoyed.
I'M wonderful.
How they react is THEIR problem.
Woodman, the only explanation I have is that you reach a larger audience for a longer time on the internets than if done in person.
And what anonymous @4:18 said.
Damn, I really thought that was a April Fools joke. Except for Janet Napolitano, the Zonians looked like a reasonable bunch.
@Charlie Foxtrot - Ms. Napolitano was born in NYC, and is an ex-fed, not an AZ. native.
...and not to be persnickety, but I don't live in Arizonia...
:-)
and some of us are reasonable!
Does "annoying and offending" include political ads and ads that are repeated ad nauseum and ads for cars I cannot afford?
