QotD: Everybody Else Is Doing It Edition...

This has been the Quote of the Day everyplace on the 'net, including being Tweeted by Adam frickin' Baldwin, but Larry Correia's post on gun control deserves being linked again:
So now that there is a new tragedy the president wants to have a “national conversation on guns”. Here’s the thing. Until this national conversation is willing to entertain allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons, then it isn’t a conversation at all, it is a lecture.
Word.

I would have liked to have seen Larry give the NRA presser yesterday.

it's not just a lecture; it's a lecture by a moron.

I've noticed that most of Obama's "conversations" are a lot like lectures.
I suppose once I accept that he knows better than me how my life should be led it won't bother me so much.

Larry would make a great replacement for Wayne and Chris.

So, Larry runs the NRA, Mike Z for World Dictator, with Tom Kratman running the Dept. of Offense. How much more awesome can it get?

And it's not one of those cool college lectures where the audience gets to ask questions, it's the one with an angry parent, and no questions or talkback allowed. I'm having a flashback to the old PSA, but with some modern changes, with an ATF agent all SWAT'd out, waving the smoking guns in the brat's face, demanding "Where'd you learn about this? Who taught you?" and the kid shouts back "I learned it from watching you!" I figure the snot's about the right age to have been born around the time of the Branch Davidian siege, give or take a year. IF his mom was as nutty a prepper as her corpse is being slandered, then that would've been an Object Lesson One in gubmint tyranny.

Joseph, you may be speaking off-the-cuff, but it would be interesting to see the amount of support Larry Correia would garner if he decided to take you seriously.

I'd like to see Larry as president of the NRA, we need someone who's willing to tell the press and the country what it needs to hear; without being afraid of offending the weak-kneed and faint-hearted.

We all need to write in "Larry Correia" for NRA BOD this coming vote...

You are right on the lecture part.I do not attend lectures unless I am giving them.

Damn, and I thought I was really switched on for sending the link to all and sundry here in the UK after I read it. But it turns out I'm tagging along behind the kewl kids as per usual. Does my entire life have to be Grammar School (that's High School to you colonials) Groundhog day?

NRA BOD? I think it should be Larry for President. I'd vote for him, and I'm a damn furiner (and a confirmed MHI addict).

Handing Tam another magazine:
You don't hear many people talking about this in the context of mass murders, but before 9/11 and the OKC bombing the biggest mass murder in US history was the arson at the Happy Land Social Club (March 1990). More died there (87) than Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, Aurora, and Columbine combined. Nothing but gasoline--cheap, no background checks, and available to a high school student on any street corner in the country.

For a treat, watch Serenity with the directors and actors audio track on; Baldwin's got a great sense of humor.

Yup. Larry utterly refuted all anti-gun arguments ever made, using sound dialectic, and still didn't get through to a most of the bozos, judging from some of the comments.

As Vox Day said that Aristotle said, some people just aren't smart enough to be susceptible to reason; for them you need rhetoric.
