Sometimes in life we need such films. Campy fun tickles a certain scrap of the funny bone that happens to need such once in a while.
On the other hand, clearly there are folks - some seen commenting on that post - who would think that Sharknado, Army of Darkness, Dead Alive, and Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death were supposed to be serious cinema. Unfortunately they are all voters, too.
