Dual exhaust rumble of a 312 V-8 with a 4bbl Holley mated to a short throw 4speed... Going through the gears in my mind. Oooooohhhhhhh. Almost better than...
A Saaa-weet ride. By the time I'm done enjoying the T-Bird, there wouldn't be time for the GT-R. ;-)
Many moons ago (at least in my world), when I was stationed in Japan, my daily driver was a 1998 R34. I bought it from a Japanese woman whose son didn't want to drive it anymore because it wasn't "new". It was blue. The day I got my orders to PCS and was told in no uncertain terms that I couldn't bring it back to the States was sad panda day times 1000.
The new Skyline body styling is "meh". It has too much 350Z in it for my liking.
My dad had a like-new black '55 T-bird for a few years when I was growing up.
The couple times I got passengered around the neighborhood on a summer day with the top off, I waved like I was at the head of the Rose Bowl parade, even if there wasn't anybody to wave to. :)
I won't be impressed until you start posting photos of geniune AC COBRA's in Broad Ripple. Extra points for a 427 Cobra....the geniune kind, not the kit-cars.
I'm still not into the cruising thing enough to enjoy the T-bird, and it's been a while since I've abused a GTR. Although I prefer the racing version with RWD, a 5.6 V8 and fewer electronic nannies.
I'd take the T-Bird. As cool and tech laden as the GT-R is, it's just not as .... something - I don't know what.
ReplyDeleteEither way - it's a good Car Day.
Agreed T-Bird EVERY day!
ReplyDeleteNow that you all have weighed in, may I say that you must surely have no idea how much hoonage you're missing?
ReplyDeleteNo school like old school. T Bird definitely.
ReplyDeleteT-Bird, no question.

ReplyDeleteDon't care what the vomit box looks like from the outside. Can't see it from the fun chair, anyway. :D
Kudos to the flea on Gojira's ass for not being a parking douche.
ReplyDeleteToo common for pilots of such beasts and their kin.
Hanging o'er the line is acceptable in the end spot, not so much when it intrudes into another.
Ricardo,
ReplyDelete" By the time I'm done enjoying the T-Bird, there wouldn't be time for the GT-R. "
Enjoying the GT-R should only take about 2.8 seconds, so you should have plenty of time for both. :)

ReplyDeleteUntil then these things are just slackers...
All The Best,

Gojira always wins. Always.
ReplyDeleteEver watch RU Faster Than A Redneck? A guy in a GTR who knew what he was doing absolutely smoked the rednecks. Fun.
ReplyDeleteGot passed by a GT-R on the highway the other day.
ReplyDeleteI decided to re-read the tech specs on the car.
Now the Holden GTO looked like nothing more than a Pontiac Grand Prix that could go fast.
For the stupid-fast speed those GT-Rs can do, and the short period it takes to get to those speeds that car is STOOOPID sleepy.
Sleepy amuses me.
I'll take the rice burner.

Gonna have fun, fun, fun till her daddy takes her T bird awaaaaaaay!!!
ReplyDeleteLudicrous speed?
