More two-wheeled conveyances seen on Monday...
One of the more interesting electric bicycles I've seen. Do I detect the hand of the guys at National Moto+Cycle?
Little red Vespa, baby you're not too fast...
A happy couple with their knees in the breeze.
No gloves on her, but she is wearing a full face helmet. Odd. Bug control? Probably never fallen, as your hands almost always hit the pavement when the shiny side goes down. Her bike may handle better with better size matched tires. That drag bike tire setup on his bike makes cornering interesting. Is his bike leaking a puddle of fluid just in front of the rear tire? Looks like a thin stream connecting that shiny/smooth patch on the ground.

ReplyDeleteCondensate from the A/C.
Will,

Zooming in on the full 3888x2592 original, it certainly looks that way.
As for the rest, it is my impression that cruisers like these are motorcycles in much the same way my 65' Somerset with its single 140hp Mercruiser was a boat: They are comfy and opulent and have enough motive ability and steerage to propel themselves from one park'n'party spot to the next. :)
Leaking from tranny or motor. Either case he will be surprised soon.
ReplyDeleteSaw one the other day that had a fat tire on the back that was wider than the guys butt. And he had a pretty wide but.
The big V-twin cruisers looks so cartoony, but they probably have an iPhone holder/charger.
ReplyDeleteI really like that electric in the first pic, probably the first time I've ever said that about an electric.
ReplyDeleteAs for the leaky cruiser, it's just doing it's best Harley impersonation and marking its territory.
Victory. They are just machines, but they are really nice ones. Incredible handling as far as cruisers go. I'm on my second.
ReplyDeleteI like Victory bikes. - Yeah that does look like a steady stream of fluid which is scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm leaning toward selling the R1200 GS, and getting a Triumph T-Bird. I think my hips
I like having my wide ass closer to the ground - less tendency to have your foot slip out from under you at a stop - which accounts for all three times I've dropped the bike. Gravel +2, wet leaves +1. The Oil slick simply resulted in a pulled back - should have just let it fall.
wow, I almost finished that thought.
ReplyDeleteSo, I think the forward controls on the t-bird will be more comfortable for the hips. I tend to get a bit of sciatica on the beemer if I'm on it for hours at a time.
Although I gotta say - the Moto Guzzi California 1400 touring is tempting, it's just such an unfortunate name...
Bike I used to have was a cruiser; when had to look for a new bike, I discovered that someone had dictated that All Cruisers Must Be BIG. And the companies listened.
ReplyDeleteI liked the lower seat position, but not the length and weight of most new(er) ones I saw. And yeah, the rear tires on some of them...
Love the battery box/fuel tank treatment on the electric bicycle.
ReplyDeleteI've always appreciated the oil puddle I find under my ancient Shovelhead. That means there's still something in the oil tank.
Love the Victorys, handle so much better than the other cruisers (metric or 'merican). First time I demo rode one I fell in love, I will have one on day. Also more american made than HD and better power.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I can get to ride one of the new Indians soon(Victory, Indian, and Can Am are all Polaris labels)
The electric reminds me of a Servicycle. A friend had one of those leather belt drive bikes, and a highway cop hauled him in for speeding one day. On a clear dry day when the speed limit was "reasonable and proper."
ReplyDeleteThe judge and the sheriff had a laughing fit. After a downhill start and a two mile windup that power bike would haul Colin's 440 pounds one measured mile in two minutes.
I hope the 'lectric bike is a little faster.
