The last is my absolute favorite WWII... or any war, for that matter... Medal of Honor story: "You've heard about the guy who stepped out into the open and took on four tanks with his Tommy Gun and knocked one of them out, right?" (Apparently a round went through the vision slit and killed the driver and it drove into the gully.) .45ACP: It knocks out tanks.
Dear God in Heave, just what we need. 6 months of fans of the .45 ACP telling the world why the round is better than an 80mm mortar. :)
ReplyDeleteLocation, location, location. Well done that man.
ReplyDeleteWell, my 9 would have done the same thing.
ReplyDeleteNot that taking out a tank with a Tommy Gun isn't worthy of the Badass Hall Of Fame, but it was an *Italian* tank we're talking about here...
ReplyDelete.45, Hell yeah.
ReplyDeleteHell, Sgt. Rock did that to Tiger tanks every other issue...
ReplyDeleteSo a guy named Fiftycal says his 9mm can do the same thing as a .45.....
ReplyDeleteThings like this is why I read the comment around here.
I took Melatonin for a while to help me sleep. Seemed to help a little for a while.

I miss Sgt. Rock, I do...
.45ACP also takes down fighter planes.

It's not impossible; the first air combats of WWI consisted of pilots taking pot shots at each other with pistols and carbines until someone thought of mounting a machine gun.

I know of one instance where shooting a round or three of .45ACP into one's own jet allowed a F-80 Shooting Star to land safely.

.45 -- is there nothing it can't do? Imagine if the made the bullets out of bacon...
ReplyDeleteWe'll call it the .45ACB. The ultimate weapon against Islamic terrorists.
Delete".45ACP: It knocks out tanks."
ReplyDeleteWorked for Captain Miller.

ReplyDelete"Seven shots, five kills" with his .45.
but warning about offensive language.
As well as soldiers, posts gods and goddesses, priests and nuns, women holding castles while husbands off at "front" lines, and more.
Most likely L35s. Still tanks, even though they were called tankettes. More armor than a shirt...
ReplyDeleteFor a second I misread melatonin as melanoma. I immediately thought "oh no!"
ReplyDeleteWhy GOTHIC SERPENT now?
ReplyDeleteIt comes up for me every October; do you have a project?
Boat Guy,
ReplyDeleteI was double-checking my math. It occurred to me that Red Wings is as far in the past now as Gothic Serpent was when BHD was in theaters.
Wow. Hadn't had that thought, but yeah...
