The anti-self-defense crowd keeps telling us to "leave the guns to the trained professionals".
I was skeptical, until I found out just how highly-trained some of those professionals are. Take LAPD Deputy Chief Michel Moore for example, who is such an incredibly hardcore lethal badass that in his spare time he hunts "lions, tigers, and bears" with a hot rod .22 pistol.
Los Angelenos should sleep safer at night knowing that such rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

If they had half a clue, they wouldn't sleep at all at night, knowing that this is the best protection they get.

I say, if the .22LR is such a terrible calibre, then we wouldn't want the LAPD to have anything larger than a NAA derringer chambered in .22Short. That way if they are stolen from an officer's home or car, the public's safety won't be in jeopardy. And the poor "Chief" would probably mess himself at the mere SIGHT of my TC chambered in 45-70.
Not to mention SF Chief Heather Fong (MA - Social Work), who hasn't been to qualification in over five years while ordering disciplinary action for officers who committed the same violation. I'm sure she wouldn't even recognize a FiveseveN.
I vote we do a whip-round and see if we can get enough money to send the good Deputy Chief on an African safari armed with that fierce FiveseveN.
Of course, we'll have to insist that he get all his shots. We wouldn't want the Kitteh that eats him to get any diseases.

Reading that article was anti-gun buzz word bingo, and my card was full in the first paragraph.
I've always thought the FiveseveN was (for civilian use with civilian-legal ammunition) a pointless, overpriced toy.
Now I know better! I gots to get me one'a them lion-killin' pistols.
Well, hell, if that man actually has the nerve to honestly go out and hunt those particular animals with that particular handgun, he would certainly have my respect and potentialy admiration (once I get past the ohmygodthatisstupid moment).
As it is, however, he is nothing more than an ignorant bureaucrat with too mch power.

Let's take up a collection & send the Chief on a safari with a 5.7. And immediately after, we'll take up a second collection for his burial - assuming that there's anything remaining to be buried after he's eaten.
