On this day in 1587, Mary, Queen of Scots was barbered to the collarbone for getting cross-threaded with her relative, Elizabeth.

In an interesting coincidence, my wife and I just watched Elizabeth: The Golden Age on Saturday. Assuming Hollyweird didn't bend the history too much, that film made it appear that King Philip II of Spain set Mary up. (With her willing help, of course.)
Great storyline, either way.
And you thought YOU'D been to some awkward family get-togethers.
