I'll cherish the times of seeing her on the news, really enjoy her quotable quotes, and hope & pray that someday her country will see the error of the collective ways and perhaps head back to what it once was: a place where the world expected to find one such as Margaret Thatcher as PM.

I've seen an ordinarily mild-mannered British expat go berserk after hearing praise for her from someone who was still in diapers back then.

to her phoniness- she tried to mimic English spoken by toffs, but couldn't quite pull it off..

Thus, you get comments from Britons like:

"You could call her a cunt but most would argue that she lacked the warmth and depth."

Justthisguy said...: She was trying to save the Brits from themselves. They mostly resented that. Some Irish people just can't quit on the Anglo-hate. It ain't about religion, really. The problem started about 800 years ago when a minor Irish king invited the king of England in to help him in a dispute with a neighor. The English never left, of course.
