These guys are great. Better than the original I do say. I am currently walking like an egyptian.
They also do "Enter Sandman" and "I Kissed a Girl"
This is either the most awesome thing I've seen today or the most terrifying...
Go check out "Hayseed Dixie", lots of bluegrass covers of metal.
I listened to some more. "The Girl With no Pantyline" made my heart weep.
If this is so wrong it wraps around to right, then Hayseed Dixie "Walk This Way" is a religious experience.
I have a Metallica in Bluegrass CD around here somewhere.
I like how they worked "Turkey in the straw" into it.

Update: Having passed along both a link to your post and also a link to the Hayseed Dixie vid in comments, I am now catching much grief from the folks in my little facebook family group. Nobody is getting anything done! Aunts, cousins, friends, all bustin' out their inner hillbilly via YouTube. At least it's on the weekend. :-)

I didn't hear "Turkey In The Straw." Going back for a second listen.
Just now listening their cover of the more recent "I Kissed A Girl" song. (Their take was quite humorous at "...I hope mah boyfriend don't mind it...")
They're as fun Me First And The Gimme Gimmes' covers.
I also discovered the "Pickin' On" series. . .they do bluegrass covers (instrumentals only) of rock tunes. . . Downloaded "Street Fightin' Man" off of amazon. . . check it out. . pretty funny!
Oh man, that reminded me: How about a bluegrass version of "Super Freak," by Ricky Skaggs, Bruce Hornsby and John Anderson?

As to going WAY back, did anyone have a problem a few decades ago when a certain Country Music Star ripped off the Strauss Bros. from Austria? You know, that lil' tune called "Tennessee Waltz?" ; )

Up until now, the best cover I'd ever heard was a thrash version of "Mrs. Robinson".
I used to do a bluegrass music show on a local radio station, and one of my favorite things to do (I did it every shift) was to slip in a bluegrass cover of a pop or rock song. There's actually quite a lot of them...

Having now watched several of the Cleverlys covers of other rock songs on You Tube, I can only say that I am awestruck at exactly how something so wrong can be so right.
Whut? Nobody's mentioned Luther Wright and the Wrongs doing The Wall? I mean, the entire CD.
Some years back, I watched Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers (alter ego band of Hot Rize) do some Hendrix. That was pretty mind bending.
Two words: Richard Cheese.
Four more words: Down With The Sickness.

Personally, I aspire to be the bass player.
