Unified Field Theory...

While down in Tennessee, I was riding in the car en route to Wal-Mart with Gunsmith Bob when we passed what looked to be Stephen Hawking's redneck cousin, lolling down the road in his motorized wheelchair, wearing a Mossy Oak jacket. His wheelchair had large knobby tires covered in mud. I had no idea that wheelchairs were available with a Z71 off-road package.

If I had driven down to K-town just to see that and then got back in the car and drove back to Indy, it would have been worth the trip.

This triggers thoughts of Hawking visiting his American cousin, and being told "I don't know why you're still goin' on with this 'strang theory', when ever'body knows my 'bent coathanger and duct tape theory' is both simpler an' more predictive."

Somewhere on the road in southeastern Kentucky yesterday, I was listening to NPR and discovered that it was the birthday of both Elvis Presley and Steven Hawking, which seemed fittingly coincidental.

Were you in the Subie? Your recent purchase and my Dodge Ram being sqirmy on our rain slicked roads this morning has me really wishing I could buy this: http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/3477844344.html

But I can't afford another payment to borrow money and am unwilling to sell off anything to raise some either.

My wife and I were discussing is it really Stephen talking or is his computor just making crap up on it's own.

"...it was the birthday of both Elvis Presley and Steven Hawking..."

My darlin' granddaughter too, age 11. Smarter and more talented than either of those dudes, not to mention sweet and beautiful beyond even Steven's ability to comprehend...

I don't think anyone can comprehend a girl between 5 and 16. And it seems at 9-12 or so they are particularly hard to pin down.

You say redneck like it's a bad thing.

Having a red neck means you WORK for a living, unlike certain segments of the population.

TinCan Assassin,

That would be Unified Out In The Field Theory...

Or Unified Pasture Theory.

Coincidental? There are no concidences. This post, coming on the heels of the illicit black UN helicopter sighting, raises all sorts of flags. You need to work the Bilderbergs into it too.

Please tell us you were driving the Z3, made by... BMW. And the "B" stands for... anyone? Anyone?

Hmm. I was thinking that the combination of camo and a wheelchair, on a road, may be a poor choice. -- Lyle

This reminds me of the time about 6 years ago when I was leaving Wal-Mart after having stopped there on the way home from work. I'm pulling out of the parking lot as 4am, in an absolutely ark-worthy rainstorm, when I see this guy on one of those rascal-type scooters pulling into the lot, wearing a rain poncho and holding a flashlight.
To this day, he is my hero.

It's a substitution cypher:
B = Bayerische = F
M = Motoren = U
W = Werke = N

Actually Ed, I was referring to the, uh, the Bavar- to the Illu-

Damn it, you're just trying to goad me into typing the name, aren't you?

Not going to work. I was referring to the Bav(mumblemunmble) Illum(mumblemumble).

I'm confused. Does this mean Hawking is Elvis reincarnated?

Stephen Hawking may well be the smartest Englishman alive, but I do believe that Freeman Dyson is the smartest Englishman alive who can still walk and talk.

Professor Dyson got thwacked upside the head a few years back, when he was walking around in Washington City, District of Columbia. Would that he had had a piece on him, and had seen it coming.
