Tab Clearing...
- What the hell is wrong with people?
- This idea that conservatives were forced to adopt cancel culture because the liberals doing it forced them to is just flat-out counterfactual. It's been a universally used bipartisan tool in the culture wars forever, dating back to the Red Scare. Just ask the
Dixie... er, the Chicks. Heck, I'm old enough to remember the totally bogus Procter & Gamble allegations and the preacher telling us to boycott them. - It's that time again...
- Wait, wait... They want your work logins? How is that even ethical?

Beware this man!
He may look like a normal, unassuming nice guy firearms instructor, but John Hearne is actually a fiend in human form who spends hours at a time in solitude behind the wheel of a truck trying to come up with new ways to make people think hard when they employ a handgun to solve a problem.
And you should definitely take one of his classes.

Look...
I don't mean to say that the decision-makers at the NFL are a bunch of Boomer white dudes, but when they were in negotiations with TaySway about performing at the Superb Owl halftime show, they kept insisting that she should pay them. Because "exposure".
.
"Well, Taylor, if we let you perform the halftime show at the Super Bowl, it will get you exposure."
"Honey, me showing up at my fiancee's games has already gotten you more exposure than you could ever give me."

Gratuitous Gun Pr0n #257...
That little .32/38 Terrier just really does it for me. What a classy little gat it is. Most guns I'm being kind of ironic when I refer to them as "gats", but this '48 I-frame? This is unironically a gat.
I just noticed I have a Tyler T-grip sitting here on my desk and got excited for a hot minute, but then I checked and it's a #4, which is N-frame sized. Sad trombone.

Elsewhere...
- The original lightweight normally-aspirated Toyota MR2 was such a hoot to drive.
- Of the five DSLRs I just finished comparing... the Canon EOS 40D, Pentax K20D, Sony a700, Olympus E-3, and Nikon D300 ...the D300 was the most expensive when new, which makes it the biggest bargain now.

Automotif DXCV...
Kit car or not, I've always got time to snap a picture of a Cobra. It'd be fun to have one, even if wildly impractical. It'd be like having a motorcycle that's harder to park but could carry a little bit more in the way of groceries.
This one was snapped with the Sony a700.
Simple Math
Autism was first labeled and described by a Swiss psychiatrist in 1910. Paracetamol (aka acetaminophen) was first marketed under the brand name Trigesic in the USA in 1950.
Do you know how many years difference that is? If you take one thousand, nine hundred and fifty and subtract one thousand, nine hundred and ten, you're left with release the full un-redacted Epstein files.

That Time of Year...
It's the Autumnal Equinox, that day after which it's more dark than light in the northern hemisphere. Fortunately we're forestalling the inevitable super-early arrival of night by holding off on switching back to Standard Time until the second of November, so local sunset here in Indy is still at almost quarter to eight and remains after seven PM until well into October.
But when DST ends, it's that time again...

Synthetic South
There's a good article here on "Hillbilly TV", the synthetic South that ruled prime time television in the Sixties, and the subsequent "Rural Purge" that CBS did in 1973, and then the resurrection of the synthetic South around the turn of the Millennium.
The Southernification is real.

Automotif DXCIV...
A tasty-looking 1964½ Ford Mustang Convertible in Cascade Green out for a late summer cruise with the top down on a scorcher of a September afternoon.
Love the wheels, narrow whitewalls, and the luggage rack. Just a great-looking little ride.
The vanity plate reads "WEEEEE", which is just... *chef's kiss*
