It's still a gritty read and it still holds up well. While you can certainly get it as a standalone novel, it's also right in the middle of the second omnibus volume of Drake's Hammer's Slammers stories, available in paperback or Kindle format. (I have it in both Kindle and dead tree. Be aware that the Kindle formatting is not the greatest, but not bad enough to make it a chore to read.)
