You know you're a gun nut...

...when your first thought on seeing this post at Kevin's was to wonder what James Paris Lee had to do with some artsy photo of a meat grinder.

I mean, sure, the rifles based on his design turned a bunch of Jerries to sausage at Mons and First Wipers, but I don't see where the wrenches and tulips come into it.

(Why do I suddenly have this urge to go fiddle with the volley sights on my BSA Mk.III?)

Lee's grave is in Ceder Hill Cemetery in Hartford. The stone is low and wide, featuring a bas-relief, full sized carving of the 6mm Lee Navy straight pull. Cool.

I believe that this Lee met his well-deserved exit from Mother Gaia by the designs of either the Bros. Mauser or the corporate heirs of Mr. Remington or Mr. Winchester. However, if his demise was based on the designs of Mr. James Paris Lee, I think it would be a nice piece of Poetic Justice, don't you?
