Time to go...

Of all the things I saw, that watch was the only one that really gave me the creeping willies.

I've done some sightseeing here... some very cool sightseeing... but everything's gotta get tossed back in the suitcases so I can head on down the road.

Catch y'all on the flip side.

We all miss you. Give F.M. a big hug for me when you arrive.

Barkley says when you get home you and he can compare recent doctor stories, provided you bring the pigs ears.

Does it have a glow in the dark dial?

I think Tam is refering to the amount of heat required to melt the cristal on the watch.

You should see the melted roofing tiles in the museum in Nagasaki.

Back when I was attending the Atlanta Friends Meeting, I got to meet the Nip Methodist preacher mentioned in Hersey's book about Hiroshima. Shook his hand, and all.

It seems that the moxibustion helped him against the radiation poisoning. Who knows?

Working in the steel mills, you get up close and personal with a lot of heat, and you learn to respect it.
I have a piece of trinitite around here somewhere. When you see it for the first time you understand that all the heat you have felt up to this time is nothing.
The watch would have creeped me out a bit too.

That watch recorded a Time when Hell Walked the Earth.

But it also recorded a Time when Years of Hell came to an end.

All I know is, if those two Nukes hadn't changed the Japanese Politicians Mindset, then more Hell would have strolled amongst the Japanese Home Islands.

And let's Pray that every Politician living today isn't Stupid Enough to think that using "Nukes" against their "Enemies" is a Good Idea.

But since I read the World News a lot, it looks like the Lessons of Hiroshima and Nagasaki seem to be fading.

God Help Us All.

Bubblehead, I remember reading a suggestion years ago, that we should touch off a nuke aboveground every generation or so, with all politicians required to stand so close to it as to Feel The Heat.

I betcha that would help 'em to Get Their Minds Right.

P.s. Hey, you need to test them once in a while, to make sure they still work! Two birds with one stone, and all that.
