A point of baseball order:

I know it's very trendy and fun to talk about Barry breaking the economy, but it's worth noting that the closer doesn't get the Win when he comes into the game with a lead.

The game's been going on so long that I can't remember the starting pitcher, but I think it was either Wilson or T. Roosevelt, and they had a strong bullpen full of middle relievers...

Being a Wilson hater from way back, I'll throw in my 2 cents that it was Wilson more than TR.

TR, while expanding the scope of the federal government, didn't take over the entire economy. Wilson to a great extent did, pleading wartime exigencies, and probably would have kept everything he nationalized after the war ended if it hadn't been for the Republican congress that sat in opposition.

It doesn't help when your "closer" throws like a girl though.

Oblamer might throw like a girl, but he is their star player.

O ain't the closer but as Tam says he's sure gonna leave the team in a hole when (if) we find one.

That's if they don't call the game on the mercy rule before that.

Is it too silly to suggest that TR had more of a bull moose pen?

Before they were called closers, the same type of guys were called firemen. More than one sportscaster spoke of a fireman who brought in a can of gasoline from the bullpen. This fireman and most of the 535 who're workin' in DC are bringin' in tanker trucks.
And it sure don't help when the catcher ain't even tryin' to hide his signs when callin' the pitches.

He may not get the win, but when he starts with a 2-0 lead and increases it to 96-0, he's done something impressive and noteworthy.

'Tis true, but recency and magnitude have a funny way of affecting the memory.

"most of the 535 who're workin' in DC"

..... Ummmm.... there is an extra apostrophe in there, and you are missing an "s" .....

I'm sure there are more than 535, and these are more like pimps ..... selling other people's sweat...

And I am not so sure the 0 is trying to win ..... at least not for *this* country. N0body can be that economically obtuse, can he/they?

Most newspapers have a regular bunch of "progressives" who flack for the O'man. And who claim to be "liberal."

But you can always tell the difference between a "liberal" and a "progressive." Both liberals and progressives say they want to "help the people," but liberals want to do it with their own money.

I don't think "closer" describes the CEO...word does rhyme, though. Drop the "c".

"There's no mercy in baseball!!"

Tell that to Team America, Rick.

Both of 'em.

But after Wilson and FDR pitched, there was an opposing team.

Ever since 1963, all the runs have been recorded on the same side of the scoreboard.

Like when that Democrat Nixon did his "wage & price freeze" thing? ;)
