Blatant Capitalism: Another National Ammo Day promotion...
Just like last year, to make it easier to do your part on National Ammo Day, bring a printed copy of this post into Coal Creek Armory on Sunday the 19th between noon and 5:00 PM, and receive 10% off your ammunition purchase. Such a deal!
Are there any regulations on buying ammo in the US? Like buying ammo in a state you don't live in, amount of ammo you're allowed to transport in your car or store at home.
Not at the Federal level. God knows what kind of restrictions exist in some of the more hellish SSR's, but here in Tennessee, your ammo purchases are restricted only by your bank acount and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of your ride.
That's the way I like it. :-D Here I can buy as much ammo as I can afford (as long as the caliber is on my license card). There is a restriction on how much ammo you're allowed to transport in your vehicle without needing a fire extinguisher and warning signs, but I think it's about 5kg/11lbs of net powder weight. As far as storage goes - as much as I can lock away.
Soooo. Here it is November 14th, and I'm reading an entry dated Sunday November 19th, with comments from November 5th. I knew that the Democrats would invoke the Time-Warp Clause of the Constitution if they got elected. I just didn't think they would do it this soon.
I'm all for blatant capitalism and will be purchasing copius amounts of ammo between now and Sunday. Sorry I can't redeem your discount offer at CCA, Tam, but my local retailers will be pleased.
So when is National Gun Day? Does such a beast exist? If not, I propose that we start one. Given recent electoral results, we might want to hold the event within the next 60 days before our purchasing decision is limited for us. I'm considering a Beretta 94 in 9mm and can't think of a better time than National Gun Day to lay out the Samolians.

Ooops. Damned keyboard. It never reads my mind as it should. Make that a Beretta 92.
3yellowdogs:
Its called Buy a Gun Day (or BAG Day for short).
I forget how it started exactly, but it is April 15th every year.
Some guy's '06 BAG day post:

3yellowdogs,
If you know about NAD, then I'm fairly certain you're familiar with Kim DuToit, since he kinda got the ball rolling on this idea.
If you didn't know about his other idea, I suggest you check out April 15th, at his blog.
I have actually participated in this event, and, like you, think we need to move up the date a little for the next one.
Good luck.
Viva BAG Day! I'm sure there's some significance to its being the same day as wealth confisca- um, tax day. Nevertheless, I'll mark it on my calendar.
Man. Tamara's sold out, man! Gah! Sheesh! It's allllll about the capitalism, now.
(All the traffic the market will bear, baby. . . :) )
