Slow start stream of consciousness...

Woke up late.

Actually watched the TeeWee briefly, getting my intellect insulted by Fox & MSNBC before getting lied to by optimists on Bloomberg and CNBC. I got out of bed, more in disgust than anything else, and decided to do something more appetizing than watching Fox & Friends or Today, like clipping my toenails and then cleaning up some cat vomitus.

Roomie announced that we were down to one egg and out of bread, so I pedaled over to Fresh Market and picked up some of each. (Fresh baked rye: Yum!) The only other bicycles I saw out this early were the spandex & sweat crowd. I kind of rode gently on the way back, what with the eggs in the wire basket; I was a little worried that a misjudged bump at speed would render my efforts for naught.

There's pancetta in the fridge already. Also Emmentaler.

Perhaps I will now have some coffee.

I refuse to watch news on TV unless it's the local stuff; anything else I look up on the internet, where I can compare notes.

Good coffee and rye toast.... yup, sounds like my breakfast too. It's not a small thing, to be discounted. Simple pleasures often really are the best.

Like... crisp peppered bacon.

Like... the smell of IMR powder on the breeze.

The best thing on Fox is on at 3am (DVR is a good thing).

I woke up at 7am with a raging sinus headache, otherwise, I would have been out with the sweat and spandex crowd as well. 3hrs later, after coffee and sinus meds, I still have more of a headache than I'd want to experience while trying to get my fit on. So here I am, surfing the web. Unfortunately, the middle of the day is full of babysitting duties, so I'll have to wait till 6pm or so to get my ride.

I have rye bread, pancetta, and good coffee. Perhaps the day can be salvaged after some dink rang my doorbell half an hour before I was going to get up.

You shouldn't have put all your eggs in one basket! That's just tempting fate!
