Gratuitous Gun Pr0n...

Not here. At my roomie's blog, where she shows off another one of those revolvers with cylinders that turn the wrong way. At least this one's in a normal caliber†.

Silly roomie! Everybody knows that Colts are flat and Smiths are round‡!

This is ironically funny, in that part of the reason she decided it was okay to buy the Colts in .32-20 and .38 S&W was that I assured her I had plenty of each caliber on hand.
This is also ironically funny, given the Smith autochucker on my hip..

Despite my early inclinations towards Smiths, I've come to really appreciate the Colt .38 Specials. I picked up four (forgive me, I knew not what I did) when one of the racetracks in NY found their old guard lockbox. 4" round butt ex-NYPD .38 Specials.

The "service sixgun" was a code us 'muricans cracked a long time ago. I just never figured I'd see the day .38 Special ammo was so dang expensive.

Proper revolvers rotate clockwise. Webley, Colt, Smith and Wesson top breaks, St. Etienne...

I think it's broken - there's this weird latchy thing where the loading gate should be.

But at least it spins deosil.

Colts are flat, Smiths are round.

Pie are round, cakes are square.

The voices in my head thought it was funny.

I've always appreciated how Flat and Concealable Hickock's Navys were. ; )

"Colts are flat, Smiths are round"

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

I have a Smith that is so flat it practically squeeks, but I really lurves me the old M1909 in .45LC. :-)

Colts are left-handed, as are you, Ma'am.
Is Miss X left-handed, too?

Damn you, Staghounds, you made me reach for my piece and verify that its cylinder rotates counter-clockwise, and also violate Tam's Rule about not touching it.

Never fear, I got the hammer back down without any loud noises.

Hehehe, I always 'knew' there was something about Roberta I really liked :-) Colts turn the correct way, and the cylinder opens the correct way :-) Smiths are backward!

I've been a Colt guy all my adult life. I've owned 5 Colts (still have 3, and really regret letting a 2 1/2" Python get away) to only 2S&W Wheelguns.

Roberta X, were you always bitten with the multi-gun bug, or is it actually contagious?

Justthisguy said...

Zendo, a case could be made for having three exactly-identical handguns:

One to exercise with every day.

One to carry every day, and just shoot it enough to make sure it still works.

One which no other person knows exists, which you hide in a safe place, all slathered up with anhydrous lanolin, or cosmoline, your choice.
