My friend Kaylee was down to visit this weekend. We went out to eat after I got off work Saturday, and then had a good time sitting and chatting on the porch 'til the wee hours.
Sunday morning I got all dressed for work and was headed out the door with my M4gery, when she commented on my attire: Ponytail under the black CCA ball cap, black tee, khaki SigTac pants bloused over 5.11 boots, and nylon instructor belt. "Jeez! If you had some swoopy shades on, you'd look like a 'civilian contractor'." I reached in my purse and pulled out my Romer II's. "That's it!" she said, "Blackwater chic!"
Blackwater chic, kids: It's the new look for Summer. ;)

Coincidentally I'll be heading out the door within an hour wearing (bottom up) Meindl Desert Fox boots, Falke TK2 socks, khaki Fjällräven Reivo pants (held up by an SOE Rigger's Belt), a charcoal tee, a 10mm haircut under a black Molon Labe cap, RayBan large metals, a Swiss Tool on the belt, a Böker Gemini in the right thigh pocket, and an HK SL8 in an Assault System rifle case. ;-)
Yep, seems to be the new summer look.

Oops, forgot to mention Andy McNab's 'Deep Black' in my daypack. :-)

The post is worthless without pics ;p

We usually shoot in board shorts & flip-flops. We too poor for fancy shooting clothes... Bad enough looking for money to buy bullets
Love the M4gery. Can't believe I missed the post you had on it the first time around. I want one.
Think you could ballpark a number and do a breakdown on your components for us schleps who don't have preferred access like you?
Don't have much of a comment about apparel, but I noticed CCA is getting Saiga shotguns! Tamara, what's the ETA and price on 12 gauges??
coolness! You get my vote for the most kickass blogger chick ever. But then, you probably already knew that, didn't you?
Sounds like the attire I wear when I want to freak out my coworkers. Danner Desert Eagles under 5.11 pants and a London Bridge riggers belt. Some kind of shooters tee, and a Crye Precision cap. The finishing touch is usually Oakleys, but I've been favoring the Sawfly Revisions lately. :)
I usually leave the M4gery at home, though.
I'm gonna have to remember that "Blackwater chic" though.
Yes, I must add my voice:
Pics!
Ya know, as much as the look suits you Tams.. ya gotta admit, those fellers in the "Civilian Contracters" article in that S.W.A.T. mag at your place... raar!
Who needs playgirl? :)
I usually head out in nineties tactical gear- khaki trousers, a crisp white cotton "shoot him first" shirt, dark brown waist belt or braces, and paddock boots.
Eighteen nineties, that is.
