For who savor history; I've just finished a good book on Frank & Jesse. It's titled FRANK AND JESSE JAMES: THE STORY BEHIND THE LEGEND by Ted P. Yeatman and it is probably the most thoroughly researched one I've read yet.

To really vet the research one would have to go through his footnotes and double check the cited sources to see how accurate his text is, but upon superficial examination it is a good piece of work.

One of the little details I found interesting is Yeatman's assertion that Alexander Franklin James in his later years was a proponent of Teddy Roosevelt and volunteered to be among his bodyguard for no fee. He also alledges that Frank James purchased and carried a Broomhandle Mauser a little more than a decade prior to his death.

All The Best,
Frank W. James

I just saw The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford the other day. Turned out to be better than I thought it would.
