Does this make me a bad person?

A comment troll turned up someplace I was reading this morning. So I went and looked at her blog, because I believe it is important to understand those who dwell in strange parallel universes. In one post, her very second sentence was “When was the last time you danced?

Hmmm. Good question...

Well, I did do a little jig the morning I heard that Ralph Nader had been strangled with Noam Chomsky’s entrails, at least until I realized it had all been a dream.

+1 for reading Popehat. I was curious if that Tam was you.

One of the things that science needs to work on is a way to video record our dreams. That way when someone has a REALLY GOOD DREAM like the one you described, they can share it first person.

Heck, I dance while I'm waiting for the microwave to heat my lunch. It's not rocket science, people.

I laughed at the parallel universe comparison, because in my universe, which involves litigating construction defect and insurance coverage disputes, the answer to such questions is always the same:

"I haven't danced since the accident."

I resent that she implies that someone 'developed' this type of 'movement'. Heck, I've been dancing that way since high school (yes, they had high school back then) and Mrs. AW still thinks it's cute. No form at all - completely free association. Geez, what, only hippies can know what it's like to be free?

Some folks just got to think that someone invented everything, and if so must be one of them.

Until the videotape comes out, Patrick, until the videotape comes out.

Isn't "Wellness Coach" a hipster codeword for "intrusive busybody who tells others what they ought to change in their lives"?

You didn't dance at the Awerbuck course?

"You didn't dance at the Awerbuck course?"

I was a stoic when that 5.56 brass went down my shirt.

I only dance when my water pills start working.

I do seem to recall stories about alien creatures that communicate through dance. Take us to your....choreographer?

Serious-Dance or "dancey-dance ants-in-pants"? 1.) 1979 at the Vienna Philharmonic Ball opening ceremony, the counterclockwise Waltz. 2.) Dancy-pants dancing...last time I was real drunk IOW Patrick's "(Immediately) Before the Accident". ;-)
I am offended and disappointed that she is occupying the same Wordpress template as gunchick The SeceretLivesofScientists .

You have the darndest of dreams.

I had a dream that all the snow had melted, and I probably wiggled involuntarily a little at the thought.

Then again I like your idea better.

I have small children, so I dance much more often than I'd really like to. I married the guy I married so I'd never be expected to dance "for real."

I think JB wins this comment thread.

Does doing the Time Warp count as dancing? Of so, then Halloween. Otherwise, it would have been at the Saturday dance at Midsouthcon two years back. In my defense, a cute chick dressed as Sailor Mars and a good deal of absinthe just might have been involved.

To the extent that our daily routine of movement and activity could be thought of as dance, sort of an internally choreographed ballet of stretching after waking, the methodical pirouettes in the kitchen as we get coffee and grab a bagel, then feeding the little lions, an hour at the range, making love...then yeah, life's a dance.

And some free-form movement in time to great visceral music? Hell yeah, but that's just for me; no video please (of my dreams either, also private unless I tell it how I remember it, personal interpretation being the point and all).

And I sure as hell don't need that twit to tell me how to do it, or in her case, how to fake it. What the fuck is wrong with people that they have to have a frickin' coach to breathe? Too bad, maybe without the coach they would forget to do it.

From a post on soda drinking: "Have you ever wondered why cancers have been on the rise since the 50′s!"

Yes, and upon looking, I had it on good authority that this is due to fewer of us dying from massive infarctions in our 40s and 50s... but we can always blame overuse of caffeine, sweeteners and processed meat, too.

And our improved ability to diagnose them.
