Dear god. We have met the enemy and he is us.
Not anti cop, but maybe they need to add some appropriate insignia to their uniforms: lightening bolt
collar tabs, deathheads for the hats and an eagle & swasticka for the sleeve............
I think they have gone a bit overboard with the "tactical" look. I hadn't realized that Rochester was a hotbed of insurgent activity.
Brass
" but we know that every gun represents a potential homicide or assault," said acting Police Chief Cedric Alexander. "
Every gun? There are law abiding citizens who own firearms. But it sure makes the hair on the back of your neck raise when you think that these policemen are packing and their a potential threat. Just when you start to feel safe. Now we have police officers and grannies and Tamara at Coal Creek Armory to worry about.
The only thing more frightening than the tactical look are folks like this genius.

This in no way surprises me. I lived there for 10 years before moving to Seattle, and I've seen nothing yet to dissuage me that Rochester is all but a police state anyway.
When I was younger, my friends and I used to play hockey on roller blades in some of the downtown parking garages. You'd have thought we were plotting to blow the building up by the response that RPD would display.
