Say it ain't so, Rocket.

Bonds we knew.

Sheffield we suspected.

But Roger? Damn.

At least Maddux and Glavine won their 300 without juicing.

Apparently we as a nation have nothing better to do then wring our hands over some ballplayers use of substances. Where does it end - does the differential value of immunoglobins in mothers' milk give future ball players an unfair edge over others whose mothers' are not able to endow such benefits to their progeny?

We're so fervently arranging chairs on a sinking Titanic, that we're not addressing national debt, consumer debt, sub-prime crises, foreign buyout and ownership of US assets, brain-drain, infra-structure fragility and vulnerabilities, and the list goes on ad infinitum.

We as Americans really need to refocus on the ground truths that have a much higher priority of relevance.

Yeah, I never talk about that boring shit here. Just baseball. And Britney.

Baseball has been a dead sport to me for a while now, with little more than a bunch of monstrous egos marching around the bases and up and down the baselines. The media (driven) attention delivered to it is also a big needle of 'roids too.

"We as Americans really need to..."

...stop being so arrogant as to think each of us has an important voice that must be heard and using it to speak for every damn body else, much less deliver den motheresque sanctimonious lectures.

Everytime I start to think you are the perfect woman (boomsticks, check. Sports car, check. Discount at the gun store, check. Wicked funny, check)...

... then you start talking about the Braves again.

(sigh)

Tamara, there was a good point which you didn't address: at what point do you consider something unfair as compared to what the old timers did, should we not allow players to fly in planes to games? The performence advantage gained by roids cannot touch the advantage gained by going to a game by flying 1st class vs. sitting in a cramped bus for 3 days.

"Don't you have more important things to do?"

"Yeah. But l'm not doing them right now. Do we understand each other?"

Today's players don't smoke, either. I think they get a big fat asterisk for that.

With all due respect, not being named in the Mitchell report doesn't mean a player is clean. It means he didn't get caught in this investigation.

If Maddux and Glavine bought 'roids, they need to ask for a refund. Those things are supposed to make you all buffed.

Clemens used steroids before 2003, when the league was ok with them, and he used them when he had legitimage injuries. He used them in 2 seperate years and there was also no significant difference in his performance in his steroid years as opposed to his non-steroid years.

The witch-hunt is bullshit, wouldn't it be nice if McCain would talk about Vietnam some more, or perhaps how his campaign finance reform bill got all the money out of politics instead of this tripe?

People actually liked that scumbag Clemens? He was dead to me the minute he put on the pinstripes.
