Life, like children, can be nasty, brutish, and short.

I like it. Like I've always said: have respect for Mother Nature, because she has none for you.
I wonder if we could write up something like that, but more general, and amend it to the constitution. It would be the "Life is Risky, Deal with it!" Amendment.
That should be issued to every child at birth, with the Nelson Rocks bit removed. Utterly brilliant.
Well, guess I know where I'm taking the family next year for vacation!
Seriously, it's funny, but it should also be automatically implied. When was it in our history that we switched from "Watch Yourself!" to the mindset that everything everywhere will be made bubble-wrap safe and no harm can come to us (and if it did - LAWSUIT!)?
This is just superior. Remember, every warning is there because a court awarded someone money for doing the thing...
A dozen or so children drown in buckets every year in the U. S.
I want ot forward this to Mike Williamson with a note to have it posted at the main starport of the Freehold.
Love it!! but of course, there are some idiots who will read it, then go on to get lost in a snowstorm at night while not having a flashlight and wearing flip flops, a t- shirt and shorts.
Cool, but who is Nelson, & why should we think he rocks?
Oh. Never mind.
Actually, I'm with the others. When the hell did this stop being common knowledge. All this should be assumed about everything in life.
I remember reading about a kid who fell to his death at a park in Arkansas. He and his stepdad were walking on a trail when they came upon a cross marking the spot where another hiker had fallen to his death.
The kid actually took hold of the cross to swing around it on the outside.
His stepdad tried to sue the park.
