Guess who totally boned making coffee this morning?

That'd be me.

I thought the whole "get going in the morning" procedure had gone awfully fast. It'll do that if you omit about a third of it.

Yeah, mornings and I are not getting along AT ALL lately.

Maybe it's just a Winter thing.

It is. Coffee is one of the few things that can convince me to fully wake up in h morning. This morning, not so much. ;)

--Cuppa coffee, a bowl of oatmeal and about half a blood orange later, I'm doin' pretty well.

it's hibernation weather. EVERYONE wants to stay in bed, even the coffee.

Tam, if making coffee is 1/3 of your morning routine, you are the lowest maintenance human being on the planet. I mean, the lowest I ever get is 1/4: "Sh**, shower, shave, coffee" I am duly impressed.

og,

Tam probably doesn't have to shave every morning, so there you go . . .

The actual "getting going" part is just the morning constitutional, take care of the cats, and make the coffee. The rest comes after I've gotten going.

...also, we use a Chemex and a teakettle here at Roseholme Cottage, so coffee is maybe a more involved process here than it is elsewhere...

I'm afraid I'm not awake enough to handle making coffee until I've had a cup of coffee. Thankfully my wife understands this and handles the first 24ozer of the day.

Caffeine is my primary neurotransmitter. I have, fortunately, weaned myself down from two airpots before noon. SWMBO told me I twitched in my sleep when I was drinking it in gallon quantities. Currently, it's 12:45CST and I've had 3 large cups since 1000.

On a happy note, I've got 220 run to my espresso machine and plumbed it into the bar. Now I don't have to settle for drip.

Regards,
Rabbit.

Aint't the Chemex cool? I just can't wait for that nor can I be coherent enough at that time in the AM. I have to have the drip machine turn on by timer to function normally.

No, I would not accuse Tam of having to shave daily, but unlike me, she has hair that must be tended to.

Yet another reason I get my morning caffeine from Diet Mountain Dew. Its pretty hard to screw up popping the top on a can.

I wash my vitamins down with a Vault Zero while waiting for the coffee to brew.

Then have a second one later.

I need to stop doing that on the mornings of bowling pin matches...
