Misplaced Childhood

Just watched the last ep of season 2 of The Mandalorian. All the feels. I was laughing and clapping and crying and all that stuff. 

"That was just fan service!" 

"Bitch, this fan's been waiting for that service since 1984." 

I mean, I liked The Force Awakens just fine, since it was basically Star Wars All Over Again, but it was just returning to the well of the original. And the ending of Rogue One had me ooh-ing and ahh-ing and nodding my head at the slickly done symmetry... 

But this? This was just a straight-up tug at my middle school heartstrings.
