Brunch and a movie.

Roomie cooked up an excellent bowl of breakfast-type vittles and we spent the afternoon watching Collateral.

RobertaX hadn't seen it and was unfamiliar with Michael Mann, and so it was fun watching someone really enjoy this lush, beautiful piece of eye candy for the first time. I'd forgotten just what a pretty movie it was...

Still haven't hooked up the steam-powered kinetoscope to watch the VHS copy of Heat yet.

Love those overhead shots. It may have been Mr. Mann who said that Los Angeles is the uncredited star of the movie.

Michael Mann is the Raymond Chandler of movies: he makes L.A. look beautiful, sexy, romantic and dangerous.

And tell roomie that most of Collateral was shot on hi-def video.

One of my top 20 movies. The shots are great and the movie is really pretty good, too.

I gotta quit jumping ahead. I combined "steam-powered" with "Heat" and my mind thought of Body Heat. Shows you where my mind's at.

Michael Mann only know how to make one movie. Luckily I really really like that movie :-)

Tam, why not simply buy a round shiny disc of Heat? It shows up on sale cheep(often under 10 bucks) at places like Best Buy fairly often.
