Sauce for the goose is apparently not sauce for the gander...

If you had a Federal Firearms License and the BATFE did an audit on you and found that you had 25 weapons on your books that were unaccounted for, they'd yank your license.

If you had a Federal Firearms License and the BATFE did an audit on you and found that you had 50 weapons on your books that were unaccounted for, they'd yank your license, and you'd be seeing them in court when they filed criminal charges against you.

If you were the BATFE, on the other hand, and just plain flat-out lost 76 guns, well... you'd go on with business as usual, making sure that America's gun dealers were keeping their records straight. Unlike you. Because the rules are different for The King's Men.

With this...

"Two weapons reported stolen were used to commit crimes. In one instance, a gun was stolen from an ATF car parked outside the agent's home and later used to shoot through the window of another residence, the audit found. In the other, a stolen ATF gun was taken from a burglary suspect."

It sounds like the ATF itself is a supplier of those oh-so-awful "crime guns" that Bloomberg, Brady, and the rest love to decry.

You know, unfortunate incidents like this could be avoided if the IG would just give F Troop a little warning. With just two days notice the guns could reappear in the inventory.
