The range today...

Plans are afoot to burn powder at Eagle Creek today sometime around noonish. I'm thinking the weather favors stainless revolvers. What to take? The 696 or 624 to send some .44 Special downrange? Maybe the 646, since I have more .40 S&W than I reasonably need? (Don't forget the moon clips this time!)

I shall be knocking down...uh, I mean knocking on doors for John McCain today, so I'm out for that.

Sounds like fun. I've been there and back today, shooting man-on-man steel. Got my ass kicked.

They only had two classes, Novice and Non-Novice, and I'm at that awkward in-between stage when it's not fair to beat up the new guys, but I can't really run with the big dogs yet. I won my first match and came close on the second--our finishing poppers clanked against each other in falling, but his was on the bottom.

I'd feel pretty good about it if they hadn't spotted me two poppers against both those guys. :D

The only time you can have too much ammo is if you are on fire or swimming. ;)

Sorry I missed you, was busy this morning and early afternoon closing out that piece of business from the other weekend.

Tam: I have to ask what is the definition of "reasonable need" when it comes to ammo?

I have an out building that's full and I'm still on the lookout for more. I need some guidance on this 'reasonable need' business.

Whatever you ended up taking, your day was more satisfying than mine was.

Have a good day tomorrow. :)

Heh.

In this case, "reasonable need" would mean that I have several hundred rounds of ball and a hunnert, hunnert-and-a-half rounds of JHP, and only one .40 S&W gun, which is a moderately collectable S&W wheelgun I hardly ever shoot....

That's not excess ammo, that's a handgun deficiency!

You found a 696?

Congrats!

You can never take too much ammo to the range. It's a state law!

Just spent a day at the range myself. .22 lr to 45/70.

Got to shoot my Garand for the first time. Yeah!

Hell, I've known guys to buy ammo and not even have gun in that caliber. ;)
