Dog Bites Man, and other unshocking news...

Some of today's headlines at Pravda.com are real headscratchers. Here are a couple of the best:

Bound bodies found in Afghanistan

"Bodies found in Afghanistan"? Isn't that kind of like "Corn found in Nebraska" or "Eminem fans found in suburban high school parking lot"?

Iran resumes nuclear weapon work, U.S. report expected to say

Okay, c'mon, raise your hand if you really believe they stopped. Pull the other one, Mahmoud; it's got bells on it.

So now we're blogging about a media report about an unwritten government report speculating on what might happen somewhere else.

Fear monger much?

That's me, whipping up frenzy of fear among my vast legions, all to justify a preemptive attack.

Oh, wait, I'm not the State Department, sorry.

They are just being green. That is one of those recyclable reports (and headlines), it can be used year after year.

I tell you the report I'd like to see...

"Swine flu doesn't kill millions"

Yeah, Swine what?

Or would that actually be news worth reading?

"Millions Get Health Care At Taxpayer Expense Every Day""

You know, if Iran wants highly enriched uranium so badly, why not send them the gift set, compliments of the US Navy? It is even garnished with a delightful splash of tritium and laid in a nice basket of lenticular explosives.

When forwarding to FB, the wv was "gondolas ruler". Looks like the Doge of Venice is alive and well.

This wv: baersub. Jethro's lunch.
