Misleading titles.

Broad Ripple has a little local freebie weekly paper, named The Broad Ripple Gazette. (You'd think a place with this many art galleries, hair salons, and chi-chi eateries could scare up a better title, but anyway...)

It has a column titled "Gettin' Ripped In Ripple".

Given the reputation of our fair burg, it might surprise you to know that the column is about Biff and Muffy working out at Cardinal Fitness on weekday mornings, not Seth and Jared blowing chunks in the back seat of a squad car in the alley behind Chumley's at 2AM on Sunday.

Heh,

For some odd reason I kept thinking Broad Ripple was your very own, private, semi-affectionate term for your local vill.

But it's an actual place...

Sounds like a name for a nice micro-brew. Or a not-so-nice fortified wine product.

Yeah, the 'Rip (as it is semi-affectionately known) in addition to being one of the nicest areas in the Indy/Metro is also a wretched hive of scum and villany, hosting a notorious strip of bars. Said bars and clubs are basically the places to go on a Friday/Saturday night in Indianapolis if you're 22 years old...or think you can still drink like you did when you're 22.

I read it the same way.

There are microbreweries in Broad Ripple but to my knowledge none of their offerings incorporate the village's name.

Too bad the BRBP doesn't sell to distributors. They make a fine IPA.

I thought I was probably the only one who hadn't realized Broad Ripple is a real place.

Glad to see some illustrious others had the same idea.
