Thave Ferrith!

Folks, thank you so, so, so much for... er... chipping in, as it were, on the tooth thing.

I have been to Dentist A, and the prognosis given was grim. I'm on antibiotics and a special mouth rinse, and will be going to a Dentist B in the first part of next week, just because a second opinion is always a good thing.

I was at the doctor once, and when he was done I told him I wanted a second opinion. He said, "OK, you're ugly, too."

I'm glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.

Just a thought, I have most of my work done at the Dental School at IUPUI. All appointments last about 4 hours because everything the student does is checked by the instructor. It requires a lot of patience, but it's cheap.

Contributions from out here are simply fee for service, same as that toofie doctor, but more fun...unless he gives you the gas.

If underlying problems mean surgery before crown, put out another call and I'm sure the results will be the same.

Blank pages at VFTP result in withdrawal symptoms out here, and another Jackson in the jar is way cheaper than feeding other addictions.

Just bent, not "Broken." This too shall pass.

If you feel the need for a third opinion, I have a fabulous painless dentist that I will be happy to recommend. He would probably be willing to accept a reasonable payment plan.

You have my sympathies Tam. Just dropped $1000 on a crown for a molar that broke off in November. If the broken edge hadn't kept digging into my tongue I probably would have put it off for a lot longer. I'm glad I had some savings but it still hurt since I'm still trying to find a damn job.

I had some good cheap work done at the Emory University Dental School, just before they shut it down. It was like all apprentice work; perfect, but slow.

Hope all turns out well.

Any contributions from the Indian cook whose boneless chicken wasn't?

Definetly check out your local Dental school (assuming there is one nearby) they are properly supervised and it often costs about 1/2 the regular dentist's price.

I hope you put this tusk on a necklace.

When my next cheque clears, I'll put more in the kitty. Get yourself fixed as best you can. Ten years from now, I'll spring you a newly-grown stem-cell bud.

Got a friend who went to Thailand for dental work. IIRC, it was for implants. What he was quoted $12K to do here, cost him $4k. That may have included his travel costs, not sure. And, he got a nice vacation out of it!(photo of him petting a tiger was shown)
Same deal was available in India, but he doesn't care for that area.

Has anyone seen Jerry Pournelle and Tamara together? I think not. The evidence is right in front of your eyes!
