Back To The "To Do" List...

This morning, I saddled up my trusty Broad Ripple SUV and headed off to Good Morning Mama's.

While there, I read The Time Traveler's Guide to Medieval England: A Handbook for Visitors to the Fourteenth Century while noshing on a little brunch.

Now I have to get some yard work done before the rains get here. I'll see you kids in a bit.

Read the book a couple of months ago. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The book is next on my reading list--looking forward to it.

So where do you keep the Rifle Rack on the Broad Ripple SUV?

Why can't I read blogs lately without getting hungry?

Oh yeah, everyone's either got a picture of something delicious or the recipe for it.

#!#$!@# diet!

So, is that book some sort of prepping...?
How to live with Rattus rattus and Rattus Norvegicus, post poison...?

Read that book last year and really enjoyed it. My only quibble is that the title makes it sound frivolous, which it isn't. Still, a useful antidote to the over-romanticization of preindustrial civilization.

Sadly, the sorts of people who wish they were born in an earlier era when "life was simpler and more authentic" wouldn't read it anyway. Your post gives two fine reasons why medieval times sucked: no bicycles, no breakfast burritos.

Exercise, food for the body, and food for the mind; it doesn't get much better than that!

Nah.. you just need infrared camera or scope and a pcp airgun for that kind of pest control..

Shame rodents are not biggers. I'm sure hantavirus doesn't survive roasting very well.. and giant rats may be tasty.

Lanius,

Everybody who has had any experience trying to control a rodent problem is laughing right now. I know I am.

For every one you see to shoot, there are a dozen or a hundred more.

...don't get me wrong, shooting rats is fun as dammit, but it comes in last place in the effective control measures sweepstakes, behind mechanical traps, barn cats, and poisoned bait.

This is why we have slings on all of our long guns, just like we have holsters for all of our pistols, right? ;)

Um, I really don't know how to say this, as we've never really met IRL, but...nice saddle. Is it a Brooks?

JC,

That's actually the factory Bontrager saddle that came on the Trek 7100. It's very comfy, and looks good, too.
