Master Blaster runs Bartertown.

So, I was sorting out ammunition yesterday and ran across some trade goods.

Is there anybody local who can use any of the following?

  • .22 Magnum, CCI Maxi Mag +V 30gr JHP, 39 rds left in the box.
  • 9x23mm, Winchester 125gr Silvertip JHP, full 50rd box.
  • .243 Win, Remington 100gr Core-Lokt PSP, 9 rds left in the box.
  • .243 Win, Federal Premium 100gr Sierra Gameking BTSP, full 20rd box.

It's all factory ammo in factory packaging. I'm sure I'll find more as I dig, too.

What happened to the shooty thingies that ate that ammo?

The 9x23 was in anticipation of getting a barrel for my .38 Super Colt, which has since been sold. The .22WMR was for a 3-screw Single Six and the .243 was for a Ruger No.1RSI, both of which went away to fund S&W or military surplus rifle purchases.

Dibs on the 9x23 Winchester! I'll send you some gold coins on the next caravan from Bishkek.

Dibs on the .22 Magnum!

I have a whole mess of guns that eat that stuff, and the CCI 30 grain stuff is like shooting a laser beam from my Marlin 25M.

It's days like this I wish that I was local and that my RSS Reader was faster so I could beat Turk to the punch.

How did I know Caleb would be allll over the .22 Magnum?

Oddly enough, I do not have a single gun chambered in any caliber listed.

Obviously I need to buy more guns...

Damn Caleb! I have a nice little single-action chambered in .22 Mag. Sweet gun, sweet round.

Is there anybody else out there who assumed the ammo would be divvied up in the traditional "two men enter, one man leaves" manner when they read Tam's banner?

Now you've messed up your excuse for that .243 Garand. So sad.

You didn't have the wrong ammo; you simply didn't have enough guns.

(This from a guy who has no earthly idea how he wound up with a bandolier of .303 and no matching Enfields.)

I always like the .243, but never got an iron for that kind of feed.

Anything that a .243 could do, the .308 would do just about as well, and sometimes better.

No, recoil doesn't bother me much. Why do you ask?
